Prob with new 1/8 Proline foam????
Seems we have sold many new sets of Proline tires packaged with their new grey foam. We are finding alot of examples where the foam has torn and balled up under the monuted tire. Most of the time this happens after just a couple of runs and there is hardly any wear on the tire itself.
Is there anyone else noticing this??

Are you talking about the New Molded Grey Inserts??? If it is, than I'll wait until they get it Straight and Buy them... Was looking to get some, to see how they work-out.

I know in 1/8 scale, I mounted a brand new set of crimefighters up that had these new foams and just after only 15 minutes of running in the main, the foam was tore to shreds. I would prefer the stock regular foams over the grey molded ones, they seem to be a little too soft.

I have been running Pro-Line's molded grey inserts for quite a while know and have not had any problems at all. I would definetly reccommend contatcing Pro-Line. Hopefully this is not going to become an issue.

The foam has issues. It has random air pockets and tears easily. Consistancy is aslo a problem from foam to foam. I was told they are working on it.

Under the tire.....
I have found that guys using tape to belt the tire are not having the problems with the foam tearing. It seems if the car diffs out and the tires expand the foam will let go because it cannot stretch. Taped tires stay flat and do not stretch so the foam does not tear. I'm going to grab a couple of sets where they have been used up to what condition they are in.
Regardless, we shouldn't have to tape the tire to get them to stay together.

Hey tex1
What do you mean by Taping... Are you using Double sided Tape to Tape the insert to the tire or Taping the Insert around the Wheel. What width of Tape are you using???
Thanks!!!
