Default gas,gas and more gas oh my!!!

hi all:i was just watching the local news and they were talking about the high gas prices again and it got me thinking about a few things.first with some of the more popular vehicles being gas powered and some of the more popular r/c racing events using gas powered cars and or trucks have high gas prices slowed sales of these types of vehicles or affected r/c racing events in any way?from what i've seen in 2005 and 2006 there hasn't been much if any change at events or hobby shopps.just my 2 cents worth, comments welcome.thanks

They may be called "gas" cars as a generalization..... however they are Nitro vehicles and nitromethane is not "gas" as in the gas you use in your Honda........ infact there is very little petroleum (natural oil) based products in our nitromethane.......

REAL cars = gasoline
r/c cars = nitromethane

both are not too much related.

Actually, the main ingredient in racing fuel is Methanol. The Nitro content is only the 20% or 30% that you pick for your certain vehicle. the rest is oil additives. Methanol is also used in some gasolines that you put into your car.

There are rc vehicles that run on pump gas. There is a track that runs 1/5 sedans near me, and a few miles from it is an oval track that runs 1/4 scale stock cars. They are both doing very well, and do not seem to be affected by the gas price. The price of nitro doesn't seem to be going up drastically though so maybe there isn't going to be a major impact. Who knows?

Yes, suprisingly Gasoline is much cheaper than nitro although it is used to power a much greater machine..

Have you ever tried to put RC nitro in your REAL car's gas tank? I put 2 quarts of Odonell 30% in with some SUPER unleaded gas in my dad's Z.....I noticed a difference....very suttle, but it was there. And the exhaust smelled a bit different....
