Pro-Line Truggy Tire Options - What Happened?
#1

I may be late to the party, plus I'm new to truggy in general, but I'm racking my brain trying to understand why Pro-Line is lacking some key offerings in their truggy tire lineup.
The lineup for end-of-2022 just contains: Buck Shots, Hole Shots, and Convicts. The only compounds available are M3 and S3. AKA has the Impacts for truggy, so why doesn't Pro-Line have the Blockades? Apparently, it may have been discontinued sometime in 2020, perhaps immediately after the Horizon merger? And where is M4 compound?!? I think M4 is damn nice in buggy, and M4 Blockades provide excellent traction and long-wear at my local track, but maybe M4 sucks for truggy? Are the super-soft compounds no good for truggy?
Perhaps it does have something to do with the Horizon merger, and it's a consolidation of product lines. IDK, but AKA (also Horizon) maintains a good lineup of truggy tire options in many compounds. EDIT: ...but being able to buy them is another story!

I don't know specifically what the back story is from Pro Line, but the vast majority of Pro Line drivers in my area have switched to a myriad of emerging new brands of tires that recently popped up.
I used to have a deal with AKA but I got burned having to place back orders and waiting as long as 4 months to get tires. After testing a couple brands, I switched to Raw Speed about 6 months ago and haven't had a single issue getting either of my 2 favorite respective tread patterns and compounds I need. The silver lining is no longer having to cut beads which was time consuming on the defective molds for AKA tires, really surprised that so many team drivers accept that flaw and put in the extra work to deal with it. Of the dozens of tires I've since glued up from Raw Speed, I've only had to trim maybe 1 or 2 tire beads, their QA is top notch!

Hi
round and flat, tires, that is also about the rims/wheels.
I had before some Losi wheels and tyres become very flat .
Then i had Sweeps own rims And the tires got more round.
I believe the Sweeps own wheels are more narrow maybe than the old Losis i had before ?
i like these from Sweep . with Sweep rims/wheels
YELLOW dot = super soft

Also ask what other experiensed Truggy drivers prefer at your local track is good way many times found out what you should try also
Good luck

- Gold dot: ULTRA SOFT compound for Hook &Loop Traction
- Yellow dot: SUPER SOFT compound for MAXIMUM Traction.

I was real disappointed with PL tires in both performance and options on the truggy. Blockades were my favorite practice tire for a long time (and bow-ties before that).
Have since switched to rawspeed for practice and race tires and been super happy. Truck was so fast that I didn't even want to try out other branded tires and decided to drive exclusively rawspeed stuff. AKA tires are also popular locally.
