Long or short ??

HI people..
could anyone care to elaborate the differences between a long wheelbase and a shorter one. these are to be applied on 1/8 buggy. Thank you..

peace,

Longer makes for more stability....shorter allows the car to rotate faster.

will that mean with a shorter one, it won't be as stable? i can understand now with shorter, you'll be able to make a quicker turn. correct me if i'm wrong. that would make a great advantage. but what's the point if the car will lost its stability. right?

Well, If you are felling "the groove" and arew on your game and the car is setup right leave it.

If you always feel out of control and are over doing it.Then switch to wider.

Going to the short wheelbase will put more weight on the rear tires, giving them more traction. This added traction can make it push a little more in the corner, but with a 4 wheel drive probably wouldn't be as noticeable. Anyhow, just drive a tank one way, then drive a tank the other way. You'll be able to feel the difference yourself.

its meant for different tracks, for a big wide open track, with wide flowing turns, and high speeds, the added stability of the long wheelbase is good, especailly if the track is rough, but if its a tight, small track with alot of really tight corners, the short wheelbase can be better, its a compromise, its not that the short wheelbase is totally uncontrolable and unstable, its just not as stable as the long wheelbase,
