Yeah, I was really hoping they were not going to go that way. I do not like running saddle packs.

Watch the whole video. Included is a different configuration which uses a battery tray to run a 4s shorty lipo.

Saddle packs OR 4s Shorty.

Yeah, but I can't use any of the numerous full size 4S packs I have already invested way too much $$$$ in. Plus I have never liked the way saddle pack cars drive. That front motor config just puts way too much weight up front.

Default Cg

Just watched the video with my buddys earlier. We liked. The saddle pack is actually sweet. Could use 1/10 packs? Lowers Cg and when 1 cell goes bad you do not have to get rid of the three good cells. Looks great. cool seeing Horns boy too. Nice work.

Looks cool, would prefer a single full size 4S, but I have a lot of 2S shortys, so curious to try one out.

That's not entirely true. You need the two packs to be as closely matched as possible. If you put a new pack in beside an older pack that has a higher IR, it will start running one pack down faster than the other and you can end up with one dropping below 3v per cell before the esc low voltage cutoff triggers.
