As far as i know in France exist a 1/8 Buggy class that its 2WD ... interesting right .. good hands to control that ...

I think a 8th scale 2wd buggy would be cool. It would be a challenge to drive.

The four-shoe clutch on the 8ight is genius...the shoe material that will come with the production kit is genius! Lasts a LONG time and it works great.

Also...using a 4-shoe clutch means you can mix and match carbon and alminum shoes 2-and-2 to keep the clutch balanced, which will extend the life of clutch bearings!

Hey guys just to kick a deal horse one more time..... I got to mess around with the 8ight at the Losi Champs and to say the least I am very impressed with it. From what I heard/understood coming from the Losi camp, it that the towers are going to be 5mm aluminum and the shock shafts are going to be 4mm. But just from looking and feeling around on the car I am throuoghly impressed with the car, and to boot I am by no means a nitro fan! I think alot of people are going to be impressed with this car. Oh and for the record "The Drake" is one hell of a nice guy. late

Damn this is gonna be a nice car! Losi is gonna be my first stop at RCX!!!

Sweet...make sure you say hi! I'll be the goofy looking one...probably with a bit of a faux hawk.

speedy2 04-17-2006 01:53 AM

bearing inside the clutch will be bigger size
and Aaron,
aren't the shoes/bell too....?
also
I get the impression that many of the plastic parts are difinitive already..

Ya, no kidding!

Aaron Waldron 04-17-2006 05:29 PM

I don't think any of the clutch system is compatible with anything else that's on the market right now..it should all be pretty new stuff. There is work to be done on the molds to make all the plastic parts the right dimensions and get everything where Losi wants it to be.

Bighead - OH REALLY? This coming from someone whose paintjob is BOX!

Any speculation on price and release date?

Chad_R40 04-25-2006 10:37 AM

Looks cheap IMO... MP777 SP2 4 LIFE :ha:

speedy2 04-25-2006 11:33 AM

kyosho has in the end the cheapest quality of all
certainly looking at the price they demand for it
driving is one of the best ofcourse

speedy2 04-25-2006 11:35 AM

I hope Losi have an new sort of clutchspringsystem then
please not with the hidden 3 springs again

Aaron Waldron 04-25-2006 05:45 PM

SUNA - I don't have any figures for either...I think it's safe to speculate sometime around August or September, but don't hold me to that. The only thing I've heard about the projected street price is that it will be competitive with the cars currently on the market...the MBX-5 Prospec, 777 SP2, and XB8 TQ.

Chad_R40 - What looks cheap? By cheap I'm hoping you mean inexpensive...this car shouldn't require a couple hundred dollars in Fioroni, King Headz, or Hardcore components to be competitive.

speedy2 - The clutch system should be a lot like the clutches currently on the market, but with four shoes instead of three.
