If there are enough entrants to race, than there will be a race. Otherwise, the people that show up can just practice.

Kyle, Ashley and I are headed down to SoCal on the Wednesday after Christmas. We are going to race on Wednesday, Friday and probably Sunday.

Merry Christmas to all the SoCal racers! Everyone, and I truly mean everyone, makes coming down from Vegas a great time for us. See you all soon.

I'll be there to race. 1-Novice, and 1- Int Truck.
Plus the 0.99 store is next door. Bring some wrapping paper and tell the loved one's you need to do some last minute stocking stuffers or something.

Merry Christmas Gang!

quick question for anyone using aluminum pinions,,,,, as you guys know I run a brushless mini and I use an aluminum pinion gear,, the problem is this.. after just a couple of days of hard practicing I notice that the side of the pinion that pushes against the spur is wearing ,, and about a month later that whole side of the pinion teeth would have worn so badly that the teeth look like sawblades,,,,, but the spur remains in fair shape. ; is this common for aluminum ponions ... or is it just the aluminum grade is too soft,,,,,,
I use duratrax 19t miniquake pinions,,, cause they are .6 module (48 pitch metric),,, this is what the spur is,,, and I use a mesh plate for perfect mesh

Aluminum pinons do not last forever. That is why I use steel ones in my 10th scale stuff. The alum ones do not last long enough to justify the performance they might give. For you I am not sure what your options are?

Your springs are way too stiff... Try pink or yellow rears and orange fronts... The yellows will be good especially for the bumpy straights...

You can also try Casper's standard setup, found here:

Oh and for the monster: try 18/78 first. I used to run 19/78, but that was geared high with 767s and purple/purple.

Default Aluminium Pinions

I gave up on aluminum pinions. Running Stock truck, I have had two out of two die just like yours in the photo. Robinson brand, I think. (black with silver stripe?)

I've seen your vendetta go. That's a lot of motor, I doubt there is a difference in performance with steel.

well i have a selection of motors to choose from,, then one that most have seen me run was my gh 4700 and i now have a aon 4900 (which is the only one that can use a steel pinion) and a new motor gh3600 so i will give the steel a try for a month and see what happens..

The problem is drit and grime get imbeded into the plastic spur and it acts like sand paper and grinds away the pinion. If you can get some harder grades of alum then they may last longer but it looks like you are just wearing them out!
