I planning to be there, running stock. I have family coming in all the way from Georgia, it could screw things up. I will definately be there tomorrow to set up the XXXcr. Later.

what amount of anti-squat are you guys using on the track,, went there lastnight and not only did i have 2 degrees antisquat ( i usually run 0-degree) but i was also using tires that have been grooming in a plastic bag for a week ,after spraying them with wd40.. im sure the combo of very soft front tires (proline blades) and the 2 degree antisquat made for a very strange ride.. the car(I) was all over the place ...

was is typically used.. seems i had too much steering and it made it hard to correct while on power..

jaejw1-- What car are we talking about and what rear tires are you using. I have never needed to sauce front tires at So Cal. I never needed that much steering. I have been using the the stock 2 deg in my CR and I am runing 1 deg on my MF2 truck if memory serves me right.

well im the one with the xtm xcellerator with the gtb 5.5 ,,, the only oddball out there..
i was, before the change, using 0-degree antisquat, proline m3's and r3's ,, losi ribs ( i think they are pink,, and they are pretty old.. ) my shock oil is also less in rear than front i think by 5wt not much,,

i thought i could get more control from the car by adding antisquat and also the tires was just an experiment.. i am using proline holeshots R3.. they felt softer than M3's,, but i have noticed that when the track is blue'ish like it was lastnight i tend to always have problems,, but this time it was a lil more noticed.. i have a video of it,, the only thing though with the video, one of the wires soldered onto the BL motor was fraying off inside the insulation ,, my guess only a few strands were still connected which made the truck slow... but looking at the drive you could still see my bad driving.. too bad i dont have anything else from before. for some reason my driving is better the first week (actually the first day) of a new layout. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnvfKuogFIM

First off losi never made the 9 row in pink. (with they would) so you tires are probably silver. (a good tire for socal). R3 is harder then M3. R3 is a good indoor clay dirt tire and will be faster for lap times since it is harder but unless you have a good setup on the truck it will be a little harder to drive. M3 tires are a little more forgiving a tire and is probably a better choice for a drier track. Less antisquat should give you more side bite but from the video it looked like you car was loose on power (or exiting the corners). I would put the antisquat back and maybe move out on the tower for the rear shocks as this should help the truck square up better on exit.

the only options i have for antisquat are 2 and 3 degrees... the associated might fit and im not sure how the losi's look.. bu like i was saying with the 0-degree antisquat i was able to throw the car around and make it do what i wanted.. and the r3's were very soft since they were sprayed with wd40 and sealed in a ziploc bag for over a week.. im not used to anti squat and i probably did too much at one time... very soft front tires along with going from 0 to now 2 degrees was more than confusing for me to drive..

with the 0-degree,, i was able to lift the front end up (most of the time wheeling down the straight) high enough so it wouldnt affect steering that much,, but i was always going straight and the front end had a controlable push that i liked..
i dont know of anyone that has drivien with 0-degree anti,,, i was actually told not to do it..

i will try it again with the front ribs ,, to take out some of the steering, and keeping the anti squat the same 2- degrees,, like someone told me once ,, "push is good, as long as you can control it"

You do not need a new block to change antisquat. You can add and take away antisquat by using thin shims under the front or rear of the block which will adjust the angle. (FYI)

A car that pushes is usually more consistant as it forces you to slow down for corners. Consistancy wins races. If you have to much steering or the car is loose, this can be fast only if you can control it. Spining out in the corners is not fast. Antisquat is something that is hard dangerous to play with. Depending on if it is adjusted wrong for your setup or suspension geometry you can loose all rear tracion (fwd and side) with antisquat changes. That has been my experience at least.
