Trip Dude, you go there. Any thoughts, connections or input?
I don't think he would be able to do that there...

Maybe a few man made jumps covered with carpet thrown down on a section of a local park would make a nice temporary ( take it down after each race )Euro style grass offroad track.
That's where the city connection could come in.
Behind Bending Corners I saw grass fields. Is he the connection that could pull something like that off? Doesn't hurt to dream does it?
Some of those Euro setups are really nice. Could be picked up and taken away by the racers in no time.

That would kick ass...and I would have a place to use all the step-pins I bought to use at Rev that I have no use for now.

That was a REALLY sweet deal out there and Dana pulled the plug because of the lack of participation.

Casta del Sol golf course in Mission Viejo is closing and a senior assisted living facility will occupy part of the land. The city is asking residents what else they would like to see there. I put in my request for electric off road RC, others should do the same. Too many golf courses around here anyway

Gail Reavis is the mayor of Mission viejo. Send her a note at [email protected]

I sent an e-mail to Gail, and included the web addresses of all the south OC R/C manufacturers, maybe they would like to be involved as well.

here is the mayors response to my email, doen't look good.

Dear Mr. Brooks;

Thank you for your e-mail. It is not the City of Mission Viejo that is looking for 'suggestions'. It is Sunrise Development and their PR firm. They say "What do you want in your park?"

They have yet to answer my question as to who is going to pay for it?

I will however, add your e-mail to my file of residents who do not want this change to occur. They will be 'thrilled' to know someone wants to build something right outside their kitchens and living rooms that will rumble, screetch, and throw out all manner of dirt and fumes.

Thank you for writing. Mayor Reavis

I wonder why it so hard to get tracks going. Our elected officials have no clue what Electric RC is about

It is all about affordable land. That is VERY hard to come by in OC It think that is why all the tracks seem to have been forced to the outskirts of OC and LA counties.

Unfortunately, it's also all about money in OC. RC is not as big an income earner as another Target, Starbucks, or Subway.

Next time, I'm voting for an RC-friendly mayor! Sounds like Gail wasn't too helpful. I haven't found her to be either, but I figured more people asking is better for our cause.
