Maybe Pacific Coast Hobbies will step up and open a track. Found this on their web page.

"We opened Pacific Coast Hobbies in April and it has been a huge success. Our goal for the next year is to open my own remote control race track park."

I would love a track in the South Bay.

Yeah, who wants to drive out there on a Wed. night, especially if you live around So Cal. Kinda unfortunate that the remaining tracks I hear about are so far away from H.B. I guess I have become to spoiled with a local track.

Anybody going to the track tonight that may know someone to tell them the real scoop on how long SoCal will be open. I am ready to purchase a B44, but won't if they are going to close soon. I can't justify driving 1-2 hours to drive my cars if SoCal closes.

I was there Fri. night, and apparently Mike and others were saying that it will be closing in Jan. As of what time in Jan. I don't know.

They have to be out by December 31.. so maybe closing 1-2 weeks before that.

The thing I cannot figure out is, all of the major RC manufacturers are in south OC: Associated, HPI/Hot Bodies, Kyosho/Orion, Tamiya, Ofna etc. Why the hell is OC and So. Cal as a whole a wasteland for tracks?

RC racing is not lucrative, and land in the OC is ridiculously expensive...

And there is an abundance of tracks in Socal area (LA and OC), they just cator to what is hot, and nitro 1/8 is hot...

It looks like its going to happen pretty quick because they already removed the vending machines and i think the video games.

For the longest time Southern California had no shortage of tracks where you could hit up to 4 different tracks in one week all of them 1/10 scale Electric. now You gotta drive alittle to go race which sucks but until something else opens closer and theres more options thats all you got.

hopefully someone will open something soon.

Looks like everyone is going to have to get on road cars and start racing at Bending Corners.

I think there should be a petition/request sent to Kyosho/Orion.
They are right next to the Etnies skateboard park, right off the 241 Toll Road in the Lake Forest,El Toro area.
Talk about exposure to kids with money from wealthy families!
Kyosho would clean up the R/C racing loot!

If anyone has city connections the best way to build a track is on city land. Like a park or fairground. Look at Ventura Roadrunners, that track has been there forever. There was a track in Bakersfield built on city land. The Freedom Hill track in Detroit, also a park. If someone was to form a club, they could propose the idea to the city. Just an idea.

I've been to Bending Corners as a spectator, maybe they could find a place over there to "bend some dirt"?
Trip Dude, you go there. Any thoughts, connections or input?
