Sorry, I was unsure. At socal, the don't run BL in stock and 19t for offroad. They allow lipos, as long as you aren't fast. When you are winner/running up front, then they are not cool anymore.

Actually, Frank, there's one or two guys running BL stock. Definitely one in Sportsman buggy.

No BL in stock or 19T classes next year at the JBRL. BL only allowed in Mod. No Lipo's at the JBRL as well!

We do run brushless motors in stock at So Cal. But in my opinion, a tuned brushed stock motor is faster.

I heartily disagree. I think that a capable person with a BL 13.5 and a LIPO, with EASILY out run a brushless, NICD pack. That is definately the case in Touring Car, where motor and power is at an even higher premium...

The lipo is a big advantage on the onroad side. Lighter wieght and more voltage mean a lot.

Yeah I am still a firm believer in NiMh technology. The EP cells are awesome.

Lipo batteries have advantages over NIMH, I agree. But in my opinion, BL motors have no speed advantage over brushed. You can actually tune a brushed motor (brushes/springs), where BL have virtually no tuning options. The only advantage with BL is you have more time to spend working on your car.

Personally I like brushed motors over brushless. but brushless does give you more time to work on your car
