What does this mean for the new Irvine track? Are they still planning on opening in July?

I think they should, I mean why wait for SoCal to close just open it and let the racer choose where he wants to race.

No doubt...plus, only a month of overlap anyway. That will give us addicts a smoooth transition from SoCal to the new track

well maybe the new track can prep everything but the track,, that way when the time is right all that needs to be done is ship in the dirt..

Default New track

Hello Everyone,

My name is Russ and I am the person interested in starting a new track. We have a perfect facility in Irvine very close to the John Wayne airport. The building's owners are very good freinds and buisness partners of a fellow racer at Socal so the delay will not kill the deal. We are still working out legalities on the facility but the plan was to open in July. It is true that I was going to take socal's dirt and work out a purchase of other pertinent equipment to the new track in the next week. With the extention of socal's staying open this causes a delima but will help me and the others involved in the new track to not rush and get all our ducks in a row, so that it is done right! I have had a great showing of support from racers, pros and manufactuers from our area and beyond. Everyone is willing to help and that is a great thing. At the same time, this is a risky buisness venture and we need all the support we can get to run a professional and self sustaining rc track, so any input from this forum will be greatly apprecieated. I will continue do update you all who are interested and will do my best to work with the owners of socal to keep all of us racing!

Hi Russ, it was nice meeting you last Friday. I am relieved to hear that this "delay" will actually help you in your venture. I am absolutely sure that you will have the support of every single off-road racer in the LA basin...and beyond.

Please keep us updated with progress reports and PLEASE don't be afraid to ask for help. One thing I have found in my 26 years of off-road racing is that almost any profession and skill is represented on any given race night. Ask for help, and you shall receive!

Best of luck with the new track!
