All kidding aside, I am sad to see SoCal close. We raced there for so many years. Cody was basically raised at the tables in the place. It meant allot to us, and it's tough to see it go. We watched and learned from The Great One, Brian Kinwald. We got to witness the battles between The Dirtinator and Pudge, and the passing of the torch, as Pudge went on to win multi world titles. Hopefully another indoor track will open.

So long SoCal, it was fun.
See its so easy for you to say that you guys are gas people but dont get me wrong you guys were raised there. But so was i,I was raised by everyone pudge, joe, josh, ronnie, brent, coach, yes ive bin driving for a year but poeple watched my talent grow and the great battles i had with all the top world champs the time i whiped cody lol and just the good times I had learning from the best it is going to be very hard for me to just say goodbye to socal sooo i dont have much to say but i am going to say that this friday will be the biggest socal club race ever.

I hope for a great turnout but you are not old enough to know So Cal in its true Glory days! Some of us were arround for the first days of So Cal. I get more depressed the more I type!

You were raised by everyone at SoCal? You only been there a year. You mean to say it only takes a year to raise a Rookie Boy? HAHAHA

You got a long way to go yet.

Someone with some clout needs to put a presentation together to get all the southern california R/C companies to subsidise a new track. We have Kyosho America, AE, Losi, Peak/Orion, OFNA, Tamiya, Yokomo all in this area. All of these guys need a place to test and have their drivers sharpen their skills. There has to be enough money there to get a place going. A large wearhouse type place like the MnM or an old grocery store like the old so cal.

Hopefully in South Orange County. I am sure Mr. King agrees

...and maybe now that SoCal is closed, rookieboy can work on his grammar.
Holy run-on sentence Batman !

I completely agree Casper. These Companies need to get together and make it happen. And seeing that all the companies are located in or near Lake Forest (South County)... lol. Build a track in my back yard people !

I for one am also sad about the closing of So Cal.

They have set a benchmark in R/C racing that is going to be damn near immpossible to replicate. The track(s).... The pits.... and the shop were all top notch. Indoor racing is ideal, However, expensive! There simply is not enough money involved in our racing side of the industry for the track operators to survive.
Hopefully as Casper has metioned, there will be another place to race for you guys.

I am again Inviting ALL of the So Cal people out to FHR for one final race at our location as well. June 2 SAT

I will do my best to attend this coming fri as well as trying to get our club to come support too

You guys deserve to go out in style

well then why doesnt someone draft a letter.. and not something on notebook paper.. but something official.. and have everyone sign it.. and send copies to all the major and minor manufactures... have it where each company is aware of the other companies envolvement and also how it will benefit this sport,, for those that have been racing for YEARS and those just starting out.. something like this is sure to get magazine and news press..

I have over 400 signatures.
Proposal in the the process( about 60%)

This is a very time consuming process, even with all of the ducks in a row.
"racing" is a hard 'sport'? to classify.
When you say 'races' they think negativly at the county.
also, 'participant sports' -Hockey-skating-rock climbing- pool playing....r/c racing?
ARE all indoor activities according to county regs.
They want us to move our opperation indoors, which we know(from so cal) is unfeesable.

I hear you Dave-- I think you are doing a great thing down the in SD for all those racers. You are putting a ton of work in saving racing in your area. You do not get enough credit for all that you are doing down there.

The only problem I think there is with my plan is getting the companies to play together. I would think if there was a saavy investory out there you might be able to get some manufacture money for a large track around here though. We have a lot of the best talent in the US living in southern california. We did not realize how spoiled we were to have so cal open 7 days a week with indoor racing. It is the last of the indoor tracks. We used to have 3-4 of them. Now none! It is hard to believe that the large companies we have around here though would not kick some money down for a "home" track It would be a place to do some close door testing as well. I forgot Hot Bodies in my list as well as Odonnel who have reported to be deveoping full lines of electric cars!
