So, where are you SoCal regulars going to run after SoCal closes? Are there any other 1/10 indoor tracks in Orange or LA Counties?

Man..this news really sucks!! My kids are gonna be bummed. That place has really become a part of our life, especially my son Fischer.

So what now? Does one put the stuff on the shelf and see if another track opens locally or put the stuff on the chopping block?

Thanks for the ride So Cal it has been great!!

Bob, are you talking about Friday the 25th, or Friday the 1st of June? The 31st of May is a thursday, unless for some reason everyone decides that thursday night would be sweet.

I'll be running gas/electric at Pegasus Hobbies in Montclair.

Johnny, how is Pegasus's track these days? I went there a few years ago and it was a dried up dirt oval. Have they built something that is more supercross style now?

Jeremy Felles and Keith Whisler run the offroad track now, and it is tons of fun. Felles and Whisler fantastic race directors, and they make sure everyone has a good time. They offer 20% off EVERYTHING in the store to racers.

It is a little drive for most of us OCers but Pegasus has a great program and a fun 10th scale track. Keeps you from breaking your stuff with the 8th scales. There is Hot Box in Santa Ana as well but practice only. I they do not have a race program from what I understand and it is a gas track as well.

Chuck,
Make the trip up to Pegasus on Saturday afternoons, you wonít be disappointed. This is a great hobby for the kids so please donít shelf your cars. My daughter needs another 4 yo to look up to.

Andy told me that he has sent Russ a few property profiles. Hopefully one will work! I offered to help him any way I could.

It's about an hour from me, but I'm game if the track and people are cool.

Snapped my B4 in half today at Socal, front bulkhead and chassis both. Must have hit the pipe just right...sheesh! Maybe I'll pick up a plastic chassis instead of carbon this time. Still had a blast. New T4 was running great and not too many noobs going the wrong direction on the track

I'm going to have to take a day off this week so I can run one more time!

I know land is expensive in OC, but there's a huge building in Mission Viejo (right next to 241) that's been vacant for about 10 years now. Used to be a K-Mart, then some mortgage company. Would make an AWESOME indoor facility. Can't tell me it's making more money sitting there vacant.

I have visions of a huge hobby shop that also sells online, full-on snack bar, upstairs lounge with glass windows overlooking the track, 1/8 scale off road, 1/10 scale off road, and 1/10 scale on road, all in one facility (well ventilated, of course). Weekend programs for the kids; sort of a "build and take" for B4 kits, racing classes for everyone, involve the family (for those of us who can't take the soccer mom scene)...would be heaven! It doesn't hurt to dream, does it?
