Trinity motors are the most over rated motors out there. Yes there are some good ones but most are just nothing special.
I've owned/ran and driven a bunch of motors. The best ones I've ran were the Fantom Icon V1 and V2 and Reedy S+ tuned by Pilot RC products. I also recently drove a tekin gen 4 and was also impressed. The Pilot tuned motors are my favorite and what I run, as its more of an rpm motor, so the better you drive the faster it gets. I've been asked if my 13.5 4w is mod a couple times, its super fast when you link the whole track on a nice layout that flows right.

They’re all pretty good. Only very good drivers are able to translate more power into a faster lap time consistently, unless there’s a critical jump, even then, it takes skill to clear something like that with any 17.5. A-Main’s Eco Power motors appear to be made by Surpass, which is an OE builder for many of the brands out there. I had Surpass V2’s that performed very well when last I raced. Get something like that, gear it right so you don’t cook it, and race and practice. It’ll be a while before you need to think about whether or not you’re losing to someone else’s equipment (and it’ll most likely be their tires..).

The motor game sucks but I’m in it to win it and a while back I started testing not only all brands of motors but also different brands of esc’s paired with the best offerings from the motor company’s. The Reedy motor was definitely slower than the Trinity. Maybe the Pilot tuning helps the Reedy get closer to the Trinity on the track

Mostly, it depends on how much you are willing to spend. You an spend over $200 on a motor and be the fastest motor on the track. However, notice having the fastest car on the track depends on your skills. The fastest motor might only make you the slowest driver due to you not being able to make it around the track without crashing. If you are already finishing races with only a couple crashes, then maybe a top tuned motor will be a good upgrade.
