Default Low traction dirt tracks

Seems like over the past 10 years tracks have switched to high bite tracks and so have car manufacturers and tires. The track I’m currently running on works best for rear motor 2wd trucks and buggy’s, and tires that I’ve found to work well have been goosebumps, studs and calibers. These tire choices are discontinued or hard to find. Any recommendations on tire that might work well on loose dirt track

JC sprinters are a solid choice for outdoor loose tracks. Holeshots are always a go-to for me, but yes they wear fast.

Best ST tire I have ever ran on low grip with lots of fluff is the Panther Step Pin:

Thanks for directing my attention to this. Yes, 'out of stock' both at my on-line dealer and JConcepts website. Hard to 'spec' a tire for a series anymore. Seems like no sooner a tire is offered, it is discontinued.

Thanks for offering up the Panther option, Bill. I keep forgetting about Panther in my search & selection process.

Regards and good luck. 'AC'

If you want a longer wear tire with pretty good grip on dirt then try the Silver compound cactus for buggy:

These are all great suggestions and I will likely go with them next time I need stadium truck or buggy tires. Right now however I need short course tires for the same type of track. I've never run short course before so I need all the help I can get. I have a Kyosho Ultima SC6 on the way that I bought on this forum. If I couldn't get any specific guidance, just to get up and running I thought about buying a set of the wheels and tires they take off the RTR Kyosho SC6. All opinions more than appreciated. Sincerely, Dudd

Best tire I have ever ran for fluffy loose pack dirt are Goosebumps for 2WD SC on the rear:

For the front I would probably go with Carvers:

Many years ago I ran the Kyosho Ultima DB which was based on the SC5 platform, it was a great buggy back in the day!

I have a set of Goosebumps and Pin downs, and they seem comparable. Given, this is a backyard track (loose dirt in places, hard packed clay dirt in others), though I just got a timing system in so I could do some back-to-back running...

The Step Pins posted earlier look a lot like the Pin Downs. I may have to get a pair to try out as well.

Are the pin downs a soft enough compound?
