Default Losi XXCR bulkhead fix?

I know I'm going a way back with questions about this old buggy, but I just bought a used one for cheap and right away broke the front bulkhead at the pivot points. I see the part is still available, but I've found reference on the net to some modification to prevent this breakage. Something about a B3? Anyone have any assistance on how to reinforce this problem area?

Thanks.

Rats. To clarify, I broke it at the pivot to the chassis.

Anyone have any ideas?

i don't think there is a remedy for this. what baih said about the xx4 and b3 is the only correlation between any losi buggy and the b3.

I'm sure there might be something like a aluminum peice made by trinity, they have always made shit like that. check out ebay.

Thanks. That confirms it as a dead end on the XXCr possibility. I can see what they were doing with a double hinge and a flex plate. I think what went wrong is that any impact off centre tears the hinge apart from one edge. It needs bracing laterally. Perhaps a small aluminum skid plate would serve the needs.
