*B74.1 Tuning Parts Guide*
Hi all, with the B74.1 now available and with many important detailed changes to key tuning parts, I have put together a quick reference guide to allow you to compare B74 and B74.1 settings. I have included the typical outdoor settings we use but the changes translate across all surfaces.

Any questions, please ask away

The same situation with the spur gear for the original 74. It was given the same pt no. as what was available for the 2wd but the engagement for the slipper pads was poor and helped the pads round of at the edges in the 4wd.
I guess its done deliberatley to help the distributors get rid of stock.

Thinking about picking one up.

currently run b6.2 buggies.

What aftermarket stuff do I need to add to the shopping cart or pieces that seem to be weak links?

Default Missing part in kit.

So I bought my B74.1 this week. I found I am missing the camber link ball stud mount on the one rear hub carrier. I emailed AE, they told me “they are looking around the office” for one. This is complete BS. Last time I built a kit that was missing something it was a Tekno and they overnighted the part to me right away. I’m thinking of tossing this kit in the trash and going to a company who gives a damn...SMH
Now I have a kit that is worthless and already sold my Yok wheeler. (Big mistake on my part to switch to AE I guess)

As backwards as this sounds, have you tried calling them? I got a call back in less than 30 minutes and Don was very attentive. I had my parts in a few days.

I emailed them about some missing parts in my kit and got them by the end of the week. Thats weird.

Keep in mind covid shut downs overseas have REALLY hit supply chains and its got pretty bad at the end of last year. Plus theres a lot more demand for race parts as people are building new stuff. Theres a ton of stuff out of stock for every one, TLR and Xray included.

So they said they had to look around the office, very strange as it must be out of stock then or hard to get in general. And whoever they have packing kits now must suck at it as my kits from a year ago were perfect. I know some of their suppliers have changed recently from the rumours I've heard. AE is a world class company, honestly I thought covid would have hit them harder. Get through this and you won't regret it.

Honestly nothing really aftermarket is needed, I run Pilot RC products plastic ring gears to reduce weight and some other reasons along with their amazing ceramic bearings (They are literally more durable than kit bearings and ultra low drag). Matthew Gonzales (super fast national fast guy) has some shock towers out that change geometry to be similar to the yokomo and those seem like an improvement but I haven't run them yet.

Other than that you can run a kit 74.1 with a current setup (kit isnt that great) and have a great wheeler. I only keep F/R arms, front spindles front shock towers and shock shafts as spares. Only in nasty wrecks do you really break stuff, its a super durable buggy.

On carpet, do you run the 4wd front or the 2wd wide front wheel? I saw a video that talked about it and can't relocate it.

Part now sent. We’ll see if the Exotek part or the OEM part get here first...😁

Id get a setup from your fastest local or a setup from one of the AE guys (rivkin evans etc).

MattyG's setup from crcrc is pretty dialed I took elements from it when he was here.

For some reason I forgot about the option of setup sheets. I grew up in RC racing where there was no such thing. There also weren't 500 options to tune a car.

Yeah I raced from 2000-2007ish and man has everything improved. Except stock motor prices. We thought $40-60 motors were expensive lol. Although have some year old motors and batteries and are still competitive.

But yeah its 2021 now, gotta use all the resources theres a ton out there!

Is the associated B74.1 chassis protector long enough to get up under the front bumper to prevent peeling?
