I think the rubber on the shock boots tend to wear faster in cooler weather, though I am averaging 20+ race days before I see any tears, and the rear seem to tear faster than the front

Default Servo wire lead length???

What is the shortest servo wire length in mm or in inches that can be used? I have a power hd b4 servo and I think the wire is about 10 inches in length. Thanks

mine is opposite... front boots goes out first ...rear is still good after 1 year.
I race outside at night at 48F to 58F weather... front arms snap easily like a twig. went through 3 arms already. 2 rights and 1 left.
A race buddy of mine said the old EB48.3 as better plastic than the new ones.... the old plastics were catered to bashing so it was more durable in hot or cold weather. The new plastics are made for racing and as not durable than the older plastics...is that true?

I raced in colder temps at night, and did not have a front arm break at all. I had some spectacular crashes early on in practice. I did however, notice when I was cleaning it after a long weekend race the rear bulk head was actually cracked.

i found that it needed to be 300mm at the very least.

Good to know. I guess I need a new servo or a servo wire extension (which I kinda don't want to do). I'll look for a new servo with longer wire.

Default Servo wire lead extension???

Does adding a servo wire lead extension hinder the performance of the servo in any way shape or form?? Does it hinder the electrical current going to the servo in any way?? Is it frowned upon by doing it?? I really don't want to buy another servo if I don't have to. How is the MKS hbl550 servo?? That has a long enough wire to reach the receiver box. Thanks

My MKS HBL550 failed after 3 races... I reported it to MKS.
They sent me a replacement but strongly advised me to get the 599.
I got the replacement... sold it then got the tried and true Protek 170TBL.

The XT arms (which is what the kits come with) use exactly the same plastic as all of our previous kits. The none XT arms have a percentage of fiber in them to make them stiffer.

I ran an extension in my EB48.2 and never had any issues (and it was a old Savox to boot), don’t know why anyone would frown on it, if you have to you have too.

XT arms are better for cold weather. The kit comes with XT arms.

Default Savox 2273sg

Would the Savox 2273sg be good enough for the steering duties of our cars?? I'm running a Futaba receiver and a HW xr8 sct esc. I'm just concerned about the brown out issues with Savox servos. I can run a glitch buster if needed. I have a few laying around. I'm still pretty new to the game. Thanks

It will not affect the servo in any way if you use an extension. The HBL550 is a great servo! I have been using one for about a year and a half now with no issues what so ever.
