What Buggy?

Im looking into getting a new 1/8 gas buggy but im confused because there are so many. My friend's Mayhem is very nice and I was leaning towards that. Does anyone have any other suggestions on what to get? I really don't want to spend over $450-$500. Thank You.

I'm at home with my TTR S3. I ran it with a flat chassis conversion though. I will try the standard chassis when the weather warms up a touch more here.

go with the new xray XB8tq. there r lots agreat buggys but the xray is the best overall car to run if you dont have a chassis sponsor...

since your looking to not spend a forune (ie on a xray), i would look at the CEN matrix, the RTR kit comes with a good radio, and they look tough as nails, i've never actually run one, but i think they look like as awsome beginer buggy, and they make all kinds of hop ups for it, so you can personalize it as much as you want, and from the reviews i've read, its pretty good on the track to,

If you are wanting RTR for $500 then I think the Mayhem is your best choice. The engine is pretty solid for an RTR and the overall car is decent at that price range. If you want the kit to cost 400-500 then you can get a TTR S3 for $400 from Ultimate Hobbies. Add Advantage carbon or Racers Edge aluminum shock towers for $35 and you will be set.

a pro level 1/8 scale buggy is going to cost at least $500 plus for a roller(777 sp2,MBX5 prospec,Jammin X1-cr FT,XB8 TQ),the best rtr buggy hands down is the jammin x1-cr the cost of that is $549 all you need is fuel and batts.Comes with a good engine and all right radio gear.
