Thanks for posting this, I added a fan mount to the Wiki without goofing up the table so hopefully it should be OK from here on out

Wondering if anyone else ran into a problem with the diff build. One of my out drives were binding when the inner washer and pin were installed onto the ring gear. I have a lathe so I took off a couple thou on the inner ring gear surface to free it up. Just wanted to mention it in case anyone else has a similar issue. IT could have been caused by the thru hole in the out drive being drilled slightly too far over. I didnt take any measurements to confirm if the problem was with the gear or the out drive. When I first noticed the binding, I thought it was two washers stuck together but it wasnt.

3.5mm inner 3mm outer per the manual and I checked them. outer has a step to hold it in place with the set screw

Default Strength

How are you guys finding the buggy's strength? Are the a-arms holding up especially in carpet modified racing.

My left rear arm seems to be binding way before it reaches max up travel and hits the limiters, as shown in the pictures below. Seems like the bone is going way too far into the outdrive... and I'm running the kit (62mm) short bones.

Anyone else having this issue, and is it possible I have something put together wrong that's causing it? I'm using Dustin's setup for droop measurements etc.

Those bones don't look to be equal length. I see they are labeled 62mm. Have you measured them?

Check your camber. you may be to long on the hub pushing the bone back in. Looks like you have 4mm on the hub

The kit setup needs shock limiters on the outside of the shock shaft. If you rotate your diff 90 degrees you may find the dogbone falls into the slot of the diff outdrive. Mine has far too much up travel and has damaged both rear dogbones and snapped the outdrive on the first outing.

This is the winner: one bone is 67mm but stamped as a 62mm. I had one of the early kits with the yellow sheet.

Edit: One more hiccup on my car: one of the pins of a rear drive shaft was damaged. Thanks to Ruddog's customer service, the replacement should be with me in a day or two, and I'll be running when the paint on the body is dry!
Just a kudo to mes here. The YZ-4SF fan mount really looks like it was made for this chassis (I just installed one too). The fan fits flush with the bottom of the chassis (no washers needed), the bracket that attaches to the chassis brace fits perfect, it is just right all-around. I am weird and like my installs to look overly-tidy, this helps a ton - thanks for the tip.
