Losi hasn't released a belt-drive off-road car that has exposed belts..what makes you think this car would be any different if it does indeed turn out to be belt-drive?

Honestly...I haven't seen the car at all, so your guess is as good as mine. But knowing the guys that are putting it together, it will be good.

i'm convinced a belt could work the only problem i have with it is i'm not sure how to do a belt drive and still have a working center diff. the belt will work, just look at the schumacher menace. it is belt drive and i have seen one with a wasp .26 and the belt lasted 1-2 months before he had to replace it.

I suppose you could run a front and rear belt each to the center diff and do it that way. A belt drive system could allow you to use a front and/or center one way (a la the JRX-S two-belt system).....hehe.

I'm just kidding, stirring the pot.

the day of the shaft-drive touring car is about over....from the last worlds it looks like the the days of the belt-drive(electric) 4wheel are about done.....

talked to someone at Losi on Friday and they are being tight lipped...but he did say "the car would take so long to develop if it was belt-drive that it wouldnt be in stores for years"

lets move on cuz it will be shaft drive...

Um, not saying anything bad about anyones oppinion but the stress that an offroad 1/8th drivetrain compared to onroad is MASSIVE! there are also huge full throtle landings to boot. just my thoughts

I think the picture you're thinking of is the "X-6" which is a different buggy built by a different company that uses a lot of the Losi stuff.....they also have the X5 which is the 4wd mix of xxx and xx4

Ok, I don't know if anyone has seen it, but I saw a picture of a possible candidate that could be the new losi prototype.

I saw it this weekend, my friend found it on the internet. It had a jammin front and rear suspension system, meaning it used all jammin parts except for the center guts were totally diffefent.

It had a side belt drive on it and the engine was turned like a 1/10th scale gas truck engine would be. Very different! I'm still looking for the picrture, but I can't seem to find it.

If anyone else knows where it is, please post it!

I've seen that photo. It's a "photo-chop" job. Somebody photoshopped the front and rear of a Jammin buggy to the center of an on road car. Look at it again, the carbon doesn't match and nothing lines up at the points that the photoshop user chopped it.

Yeah, I think your right. the white space inbetween the parts doesn't match up!

I don't think we'll see any photo's soon. team losi's pretty good at keeping things under wraps, we won't see anything unless they want us to.

I dunno it's odd no ones seen it. I seen the "Muggy" LST Truggy the day before Losi posted it on their site at the CRCRC event.

Knowing that Drake is testing a conventional 3 diff in the Muggy leads me to think 3 diff is a likely move in the Buggy, but Losi has been known to shake things up.

My local Losi Pro (Al Horne) knows only this about the buggy "I want mine so I can drive it, I haven't even seen pictures".
