I use the 3M Command Strips with the little tabs at the end. I just pull the tabs and the tape stretches off easily.

The problem I've found isn't really the bond strength, but whether it'll continue holding on as the ESC heats up. My ESCs get hot enough for most tapes to detach, and it hasn't even hit thermal shutdown yet! Which is why I'm weary of Velcro with sticky tape on the back. It might be some crappy adhesive that can't withstand the heat.
