Default Nitro buggy won't Idle

Hi, I need some advice please!

I am very nice to Nitro and decided to pick up a cheap secon-hand buggy.

After a bit of work I managed to turn it over and the engine will start nicely. However, upon starting the engine (using the pullcord and Glowstart) the wheels spin - fast. There is no idling at all. Luckily I was attempting to get it to start using a block of wood so the wheels were off the ground.

Has anyone got an ideas? I am tempted to think that there is something wrong with the Clutch shoes/spring?

Look forward to your response

If the wheels are spinning and the engine is revving, sounds to me like a bad clutch. Take the engine out, remove the flywheel nut and clutchbell. Check the shoes, springs and the bearings.
