Default Monster CO27 Cobalt Pro Stock Motor

So has anyone run this yet? How does it compare to the P2K2 and Revenge Of the Monster? I just bought it but haven't opened it yet as I wanted to hear some opinions first. I might just exchange it for a P2K2. I am running offroad with a MF2.
Thanks

Hey man, I picked one up last Friday and went racing with it that day in my T4. I didn't have time to play with it too much, but it was a great motor. It has great pull on the bottom and the topend is just as impressive. I ended up gearing it two teeth higher than my monster stock motor, but I am hearing people are going as much as three or four teeth higher than monster stocks. Play with it a little, it's a nice motor. I ran reedy 767's with a prurple on the positive and red on the negative with the brush narrowed for torque. I was tq and won at my track and was the on truck clearing the big triple every time. Not bragging about me, just the motor.

My buddy picked up teh only one in town last week, and since he was running mod, he let me run it in the main to test it out. I had no chance to play with gearing, and my buddy said the paperwork said to gear it like a monster. It was definately a nice motor, but I wasn't incredibly impressed. Now if you do need to gear it up a little, I may have missed some of the power. Seems like it would be a good truck motor.

maybe I'll give it a try, I just can't see why it is $5 cheaper than the monster and P2K2

I ran this in my B4 last night and WOW... very nice motor. Just need to to gear it high, that's all. It has plenty of torque, so it can handle it. The only thing I didn't care for was that it seemed to have a TON of drag. I know this is weird because one of the selling points is that there's LESS drag, but this almost felt like 50% brakes! Drivetrain is free as a bird and mesh was set perfectly, so I don't know what the deal was.

Other than that, this sucker screamed.

I don't think you will have a problem with it not being legal.

yeah i was guessing that the dimensions will probably be the same as the monster stock. I race in Australia so it may be alittle different

The CO27 Is Roar legal now! and u gotta gear it like 3-5 teeth up from a monster depending on what u have for a track! We had one of our club races for onroad sunday, and we have a guy that races with us that works at hobby town, and hobbytown donated a $10 igft card and a CO27 Pro motor. HEHE I wone the CO27! lol Now i got one for the BK2 and MF2

I bought a non-tuned version. It's a great motor. However, if you do buy the non-tuned you MUST cut the comm before you even use it. This is common motor knowledge if you buy a non-tuned motor but I just want to reiterate because my comm was so lopsided it was insane! After the first cut half the comm was shiny, the other still had Sharpie on it.

Many know this but this is for those who may not. Also change the brushes and use 767's. I hear the pro-tuned version use 4499's but it's great with the 767's as well!!!! For offroad, people are seeing good results with red/green and purple/green spring combo's.

In the T4 I'm running it 87/20! For a tight, technical track. (SoCal)
