Thanks,
You need to use the new rear axles, the SR axles will not fit. The rest is good to go.

Appears to me the major difference is all in the rear with these parts.
Key Handling/Adjustment Improvements

1. VHA rear hub setup. TLR334069
2. Adjustable Inner rear pivots TLR334062
3. G3 3.5mm Shock Shaft setup. TLR333004

All 3 can be converted using the part numbers as above.

Then, it comes with all the goodies, carbon parts, aluminum parts, etc.

Ho-B-RC Park in Northgate mall in Durham, NC.

We just recently converted it from onroad carpet to carpet offroad. There's been some great racing there the last few weeks. I just need to get some more trigger time to be competitive.

Best part - it's air conditioned!!!

Thank you for clearing that up for me Frank pretty much the way I was thinking.. I like my 5.0sr just the way it is, only had like 12 race days on my 4.0sr and everyone said the 5.0 wouldn't make me faster, I disagree. Car is a lot easier for me to drive. I liked the 4.0, was a great buggy to get back in RC, but I was instantly faster with the 5.0. So glad I went ahead and bought it. For what's in the box the elite is a smoking deal.. I'm still fiddling with the basic adjustments and will leave you pros to the advanced stuff.. lol

I read there is a rebuild or upgrade kit, and that the Elite kit comes with the 3.5 shafts sort like a retro fit. Wonder if anyone else has experienced the same or found a solution.
Looks like you race at Hobby Action. Talk to Tanner or Randy about the shocks.

I picked up a 22 5.0 AC a few weeks ago. I haven’t run it yet, still building it, but so far I’m impressed with the initial quality. A few questions though, because I’ve been out the hobby for over a decade and never raced before. Because I plan on racing the stock class, my local shop recommended a direct drive (# TLR332043). But I don’t see one listed as an option in the back of the manual, unless I missed it. If it will work, what spur and pinion would you recommend as a starting point? I believe the direct drive came with a 69 and 75 spur. I’m going to use a Tekin 17.5 G3 Spec-R and Tekin recommends 4-5 teeth less on the pinion than normal on this motor.

xenon55,
I run the direct drive on carpet with several motors. For the r1 motor I run 69/29 while with a motiv or team powers I run 72/27 if that gives you a good starting point. Ive heard that the tekin gears lower but it should be based on the size of the track as well. Hope this helps.

The people running the carpet offroad program are doing a good job.

Hey Frank Root
What would I need to do to turn an elite dc in to an ac?

Will the 3 and 4 gear standup transmissions fit on the elite car?

Ok. Based on what you guys are running, I’ll start with 69/25, check temps and see how it goes. Thanks guys.

Default Set up sheet for black carpet

Which set up sheet should we use for new, smooth black carpet? The track is medium/large usually with two small radius 180’s and the rest sweepers of various sizes.
