I know Tyler Jones runs them a bit. You might reach out to him. I don't believe he comes on here though.

The new G3 shocks come with 3.5mm shafts as in the coverion kit TLR333004. Front shafts TLR333009, rear shafts TLR333010 as I am not sure
if you can right now but soon I hope.

no not at all. G3 shocks with 3.5mm. shock shafts and shock bodies to accommodate the shafts. You still retain the G3 parts like screw on piston, locked spring perch in three different heights, thinner shock collar for lower ride height possibilities. Best of both worlds!!

Zipperfoot,,
5.O comes with 3.0 shafts. They are smaller than the previous 4.0. Most guys on clay liked the 4.0 shocks better than the 5.0 as it seems to handle better. Tlr came up with a conversion for the 5.0 shocks to make them the size of the previous 4.0 shocks. You could just run 4.0 shocks if you had some laying around to see which you like better. The advantage to the conversion kit is that you keep most of the parts of your current 5.0 shocks and just change the shaft and bodies. As someone above mentioned you keep the screw on pistons, lower collars, and locking bottom spring cups. Hope this helps. It was mentioned in the video that a lot of drivers prefer the current 5.0 shocks(3mm) for carpet but prefer the 5.0(3.5) conversion for high bite clay.

Frank,

One question regarding putting the sr driveline on the new elite. When running the axles I know you can use either aluminum or steel bones but what about the rear axle. Should you run the regular sr axle or the new rear axle. Concerned about running the new hubs and having the correct parts to fit.

Thanks,

Should call them G3.5 shocks IMO. Different shock bodies, shafts, seals and presumably seal spacer as well.

So is this the major difference between the 5.0 and the 5.0elite minus the carbon fiber, titanium, and other goodies? Looks like the caster block is a bit different to accommodate front sway bar. Was talking to a fellow racer today and he was telling me the steering geometry on the elite is different than the 5.0 (havent read anything to make me believe that). Appears to me the major difference is all in the rear with these parts.

The steering is not different. I think the front arms are the stiff material and the mud guards. aside from the c and d mounts, most are just the upgrades people use. just a decked out car,
