TLR 22 5.0
#1891

43009 and 43017 are the ones you should be looking at. Horizon currently has both in stock (as of this post). Yeah, TLR needs to clarify their parts descriptions a little (one says 3.0, the other 4.0), but those are the part numbers listed as optional on the 5.0 product pages. I guess it alludes to when each was released.
What would you use the stiffezel wheels for? Or what desired affect I should say.

Would you say the 5.0 Elite is edgy or Forgiving and easy to drive? Back when I raced alot the Associated buggies were always very twitchy to me.. and the losi stuff was always so easy to drive..
The last competitive thing i raced was an SC10 and it was very easy to drive (well all shortcourse is i guess).. but I am kicking around buying another buggy to race when i can.. just trying to get what suits my skill level driving style

As you become more accustomed to the car you may want to tune it to be more responsive, but out of the box it’s pretty tame.
just my opinion.

Years ago when I had a LHS near me, If I needed a part by the weekend, as long as I got my order in by Tuesday, they could easily get it into the shop on Friday. You’re still gonna have to wait to get it when you buy online anyway, so Get to know when your shop orders, so you can schedule your orders around them.
Glad to see you ‘round here, Frank. 👍🏼

The only inkling of a new car that may be in the pipeline (that we know of) is perhaps an updated AC buggy, as Frank Root has been working with Gil Losi Jr. on some updates specifically for those surfaces. I would expect that this would result in a 5.0 AC Elite, or MAYBE bump it up to “22X” for Marketing’s sake?
IMHO, about the only “major” update that the buggy could use is an easy-access diff, and I don’t think that a “6.0” buggy is needed for that. In either case, if anything surfaces, past 10th scale buggies have come out around the beginning of the year. The 5.0 dropped in late January 2019, and the 22X-4 was also supposed to come out in late January this year, until that last minute delay.
So if you’re looking for a dirt buggy, it certainly wouldn’t be a bad purchase, and I expect that we should be able to easily upgrade it to any major development the team might have planned for next year... BTW, it was confirmed by Frank that the 2WD buggy Dakotah won the JConcepts race with is the same Elite you can get off the shelf, but with the off the shelf parts needed to set it up for Astro Turf, of course.

EDIT: Ah, Frank beat me to it, haha!

I agree with Frank and TurnNburn. To see what upgrades are coming, take a look at the mods the top racers are using and what other companies are coming out with. It looks like the easy access diff is about the only big difference out there. Nothing worth waiting around for.
