TLR 22 5.0

This should be the week. Not much excitement for this unlike the B6.1? I will wait until others start racing them and see what they think.

That said, I'm excited!

Most everywhere says late January now on the shipment date including Horizon.

Tech Addict

They've been looking really good at sdrc and getting great results so far.

Good to hear as I am looking for a new mod buggy.

IMO, most people are moving towards Facebook for discussion and away from forums. That said, it seems like there is less discussion in general, not sure if RC is getting less popular or what. Seems like rock crawling/racing is the only segment that is getting more popular.
That said, I'm excited!

I only get to race Offroad 4-5 times a year ( due to most places racing Saturdays around here). I have one buggy a 3.0, so maybe every 8 times I race its time for a new Buggy ! Not to mention all the between model changes and option parts for stock racing too. Now with the Carpet tracks now you need 2 buggies.
Im not excited when new models come out that makes my equipment even more obsolete .With a 3.0 completey stock with a standup Trans there is really no point to continue racing Offroad for Me .
I think many just quit because the costs just keep adding up . Thats why Im not excited

So is the 5.0 enough to get me away from my b6? I went all AE 2 years ago loving my sc6 and t 6 but still have the older b6.

I had the 4.0 car and it was very good. massive rear grip. For my track, which is medium grip, it is very nice and easy to drive. But, the car lacked the steering of the b6.1. Will the 5.0 have the steering of the b6.1 and the rear grip of the 22 4.0? If so, it will be king. But the car is not out yet, so who knows.

They put a lot of emphasis on steering with the new model, so I expect it to be very good.

Yes , I think alot of these forums are dying off too. I see less people starting RC racing now as well.

I have noticed just in general that 2wd buggy is dying off in atleast my area. 4wd is king around me with atleast 4 full heats of 13.5 . Where stock and mod 2wd only have 4 or 5 entries. I think it’s just tricky for some to get the rear grip in a laydown car. I personally love laydown but to get the car dialed it does take some setup work. Where as 4wd you can juts hustle it around the track. I seen the biggest 2wd crowd say when the 3.0 mid motor cars came out.

New buggy releases don’t make the old buggies slow, all of the sudden. If you like racing, race what you have. The new buggy isn’t going to make you any faster. Ditto the “stock options”. Unless you’re an ace racer, none of that stuff is detectable on a lap timing sheet.
