Default Vaterra Twin Hammer's by "targetingxmod"

So, i got this used... and decided to make it happen...

First let's take care of the horrible paint job done before, from last owner! lol

-All white...the blue thing is tape i put for paint shapes... don't know yet if remove it! lol

-Frame was all red...but lack some paint somewhere...(picture is already with my paint...) Sorry, didn't take one of the red mess! lol

-I still left the frame with some red...but had sparkles paint and add that to the body panels...

Well, that it's.
Chassis got already a esc "trackstar 70A" and a sensored motor.

What batery size should i aim? I don't like to put it on the rear... maybe sideways to the motor? Let me know options!

Thanks!

I realized i need spacers for a wider stance! Don't like the skinny hex stock! She's maybe 0.5cm? I need some 25mm! lol

Well figure it out, for the large batery...

Buy this:

Or make this: )

-Cut the existing batery tray...

-To put some lexan to expand it...and tight it up with some epoxy!

-Testing fitment!!

-Paint it to look "stock"

-It fits now a 7.5A 2s lipo, no problem! Stock is a 2a... lol
Also see the body post's extra?

-Yep, clean and nice, like it should....

Not unscrewing 8 screws to acces the internals...

Made a video...wait!

#4 video:

And some more changes:

-Driver "women", and some top heavy duty screws on the front for when flipping do not scratch the paint!

-It got "wings"! :P

This RC flips to much for my taste, as i am not used to Rock racers or rock crawlers...i am more into speed and speed bashing! But i like it!

Going to try a few things to eleminate that as minimal...everything is on the web, so later i will post it! Meanwhile enjoy the videos!

This guy says the Twin Hammers at minute 9.00 flips at will...

Well...it sure does! lol

I am not sure but some operator could change this thread to the Crawler section... think is more aproppiated!

I've recently acquired a twin hammers clone, from WLtoys. It comes with a different cage. I believe it is a Poison Spyder.

I've modded my front shocks to use the Scortched upright and bellcrank mod. I put new gmade shocks on it. I've relocated the battery to the front beside the transmission, it only accepts shorty packs.

The chassis flips easily in stock form because the weight nis so high in the rear with the battery. Adding front and rear sway bars should help reduce the roll. And to be honest, less grippy (sideways) tires will too.

I got my chassis for pretty cheap, so all the extra mods I put on mine make it a little more economical. It really needs someone who is technically minded to get the most out of the chassis. Stock it runs okay. But I can see you like to mod so yeah! Good stuff.

So... tried this...and it helps a lot for not flipping to much. Yes it still flips but not as much!

And here is it installed on my Vaterra!

I have installed the Sway bar's. but i think the bar that is installed is the thinner one. I have a stronger ones that will install later. For sure a strong sway bar even reduces more the flipping problem...yes it will not be a buggy handling...but this is a rock racer!

-For maintenance this is how it looks like, i just remove 2 clips and body goes to front...and have acess to everything!

And since discovered this... it was just time to buy and installl it! GOT rid of the "merv" (mini e-revo) style Shocks...to small for a rock racer/crawler!

-The front shock towers...as still be able to remove body with just 2 clips in 3 seconds! :P

-Shocks used are the ones that were on front of my Axial Exo Terra...now on it there is some older clips style 1/8 X-ray 808 Go big or go home, style! lol

Also put the strongest sway bar i had on the front.

Now i think i want 2 baterys...one at the front and another on back, but that on the back should go the middle (a smaller one) I mean 2 lipos of 2200mah 2s parallel "maybe". One front and one on the middle of the chassis on top of the servo...and esc on the rear where sits now the big lipo...then handling on speed will be as a 1/8 buggy...or close! lol
And some hex wideners... just like my latest was on the merv...

-See the little "blue" stock one...baby hex! The larger hex is secured with a female screw into the shaft of the merv, not going anywhere besides it's place!!..but not on photo!

So... stock hex..

-And the larger one!

-The right side "wins" :P

And does it flip? Yep, still, but not as much! lol I know it's a kind of a crawler!
