Off power there should be tons of steering, but there are plenty of things to do if you need more on-power steering, what is your current setup? If you're running a 4 pole motor (like me), then I would start with setting your punch to lowest setting, add some expo on the throttle, and/or reduce throttle speed if your radio offers that feature. On a turf track, I'm able to get my ET410 within 0.4 sec of my fast lap with my EB410 ;)

I got a lot faster after upgrading to the VRP +4mm shock towers to significantly lower my ride height. This helps reduce weight transfer and get more on power steering.

I tried the 20/30/7 in the diffs and it made a huge difference

Any good electronics trays out there for this truck? Would like to more easily remove electronics for cleaning.

Raceform makes one. Here is a link

I have heard a lot of poor reviews about the race form being really fragile.

Tekno made their own out of carbon fiber. https://www.teknorc.com/shop/tkr7299...598c-eb-et410/ but it is designed for mounting above your front top plate.

I like the style of the raceform one, but have read the same reviews. The Tekno one is basically only for the receiver. May end up having to make my own!!

Tekno ET410 Weak Points

This truggy is a great truggy as far as handling and tunability however it does have weak points that are an engineering flaw. This manufacturer is having issues with their plastics and I seen that they have released some “revised parts” . I raced this buggy for about three races on carpet and here is what broke, the plastic shock caps stripped out when I was building them, particularly where you screw in the bleeder screws, the servo horns, I have stripped out three of them already, they last about one race. The differential outdrives are weak too, as well they have released some “revised” ones. So, lastly the bulkheads are weak too...and as well they just released some “revised ones”. Hopefully Tekno will fix these issues.

page 3? screw that...

last weekend was good news/bad news. wanted to race the ET really bad. first race on the local outdoor/covered track. unfortunately i was the only ET. so i had a choice. RD said i could enter 4x4SC but i knew if i did well, the guys in that class would cry and justifiably so. there was some wind that was effecting the SC guys so no doubt the ET would have a major advantage. i told the RD i wanted to run with the 1/8 buggies. he asked me several times if i was sure about that. yep. let's do it. 3 full heats of 1/8 buggies. the track was tricky all day. loose dirt, but when blown off and watered, the traction wasn't horrible. i only have two sets of tires for this rig. one is a set of clay positrons, the other is a set of panther soft raptors. the panther tires are pretty much garbage at this point. while rated as "soft", they're pretty hard. i ran those in the first qual. not good. almost like driving on glass. second qual same tires. i drove better but it was a lot of work to get the truck to go where i wanted. i ended up BQ. two bump spots to get into the show. in the B-main i put the positrons on. it was later in the night and the track had some moisture so i figured what the heck. WOW. truck was amazing. won the B-main and bumped up. ran the positirons in the A but they weren't as good as the track was pretty dusty. not sure how i finished. probably in the 6-7 range.

truck was a blast to drive when i had the right tires on. i'll probably spray the panther tires down with LW and put them in a ziploc to try and soften them. power plant wise i couldn't be happier. the reedy M3 6.5 with the 13.0mm high torque rotor with an 18T pinion is amazing. PLENTY of power everywhere and it comes off after a heat under 100 degrees.

got my leadfinger body back from my painter and it looks amazing. when i cut it and mount it i'll post up a pic or two.

Question for you guys... I'm a backyard basher but I like the quality of Tekno overall, and the great design. I am curious about how much room there is for a slightly larger motor, maybe a 3665 (so about 15mm longer than a normal 540 sized motor). All the pics I've seen online make the chassis look very crowded near the motor, but wondering if folks who have this truck might have tried a slightly longer motor can.

Thanks!

Lots of folks are running 4WD SCT electronics no prob:

Tekno has a carbon fiber electronics tray now that mounts on top of the front top plate (you will need the CF top plate for it to work). Moving your receiver at least up there would allow you to shift things over and make lots of room.

First time on the track with this thing yesterday, and it was amazing. Everything was box setup except 400CST shock oil in the rear and front orange spring. Running on high bite clay with Pro-Line Prime slicks, 4600kv motor, 16th pinion. Got the TQ and win at the T&T Speedway Operation Santa Clause race, there were 8 of these trucks in the main, so we had a good turnout for this class. Motor never got above 95 degrees, including the 8 min Amain run. I do have a 30mm turbo fan mounted above the motor on the optional top center diff plate offered by Tekno. Only thing I would probably change next time is to go up front with a thicker sway bar. Truck is amazing and handles nimble, turns on a dime, and jumps very good. Love it!

Thanks Bill! Do you happen to know the length of the motor in this pic? I am hoping there is enough room (with receiver mounted on electronics tray) for a larger ESC like the one pictured and a 60mm motor.

Specs here say 62.5mm:
