What pinion gear (teeth) are people starting with? And what motor size? Thx guys.

tenshock sc211 looking like a nice option for a motor. similar specs to tekin pro-2 and about half the cost.

Is the Tenshock SC411 considered a 550 can motor? If so, it's not going to fit right?

RC*PHREAK 08-03-2018 09:12 PM

yes, the 411 is a 550. as far as fitment, i'm not positive, but i would assume it wouldn't be a fit. the SC211 should be perfect.

I feel that the 10TT was reasonably durable with 1/10 electronics... most folks were dropping in 1/8 electronics and the added weight didn't help much with durability :( Upgrades were necessary from Integy, STRC, TBR, etc..

I tend to agree that my EB410 has taken far more abuse than I ever would've dreamed of expecting out of the 10TT, I just hope the same durability carries forward with the ET410... longer arms will really add some stress to those parts (not really fair to compare durability to a buggy with shorter arms)... I assume the design engineers took this into account and have added reinforced webbing where necessary to the ET410.

I saw several re-designs to the 10TT arms/hubs over the years, but what they never perfected were the pivot balls and the ackermann, I think that's where Tekno shines with the reverse bellcrank system.

My biggest complaint with the 10TT was lack of tuning options... I absolutely love what Tekno has done with the pill inserts and quick diff access, plus all the captured hardware is a really nice touch. Wrenching/tuning on the Tekno is like 2 generations ahead of the very stale design by HoBao.

What esc fits that runs 4 pole motors and doesn’t break the bano?

The Hobbywing XR10 Pro and the Tekin RSX seem to be the best choices due to the limited space for an ESC. If I end up getting one of these I'll probably be going with the Hobbywing option. Neither is very easy on the wallet though

Dang, Hobbywing 120A v3.1 used to be $109 but is now $129. That was my choice for a decent sized mod ESC and what I run in my EB410. I think it might finally be discontinued now.

I just went with tbe RSX since Matt and the guys tested with them and had no problems w/the 4 pole motors. They didnt even run an esc fan. So for me that was worth the $ just knowing that.

Same, it’s an awesome esc at a good price and size. I ran them in my sct410 when it first came out with the hw 3656 4700kv 4 pole motor and never once had an issue with heat or overloading. Got a lot of guys locally to switch after their tekins were blowing up trying to keep up. Hobbywing North America site still has them, just on back order right now.

only issue I have seen with the cheaper SCT Pro is the BEC sometimes can have issues keeping up with some servos. Add in a glitch capacitor and all was fine at that point.

sickpuppy1 08-06-2018 04:23 PM

I never noticed it and was running Savox servo, but then I put caps on all esc regardless of brand.
