ecx 1/24 rec/esc problems

I have a couple of the ecx 1/24 scale models that I bought used. One is fine, but I'm having loads of problems with the other one. When I bind it, the steering works but the throttle dosn't. I purchased a new one but had the same problem. I tried switching the transmitter, battery, and other rec/esc with the other model but still got the same results. I finally returned, received and tested a replacement three times before (& while) talking with the Horizon help line to no avail. It seems unlikely that three units in a row would do this. Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone have any ideas???

Have you switched the channels on the rec?

Steering -> Throttle

Throttle -> Steering

Could be a problem with the Channel, but it sounds like you've tried different receivers.
Does the manual have a setup proceedure?

I'll try that but I have a feeling that I'll get throttle but no steering.
I don't want to spend another $32 on a new one that's going to give me the same problems. I don't know if any of ECXs other rec/esc.s are compatable with the transmitter. Space is so tight in the vehicle, I don't know if any after market radio sets will fit.

I tried switching, (on these rec/escs the steering servo has a standard connector, while the motor output and battery input have 'micro JST plugs' I think), anyway I still had no throttle. Does any one know if the standard 1/24 scale transmitter (the tiny one) is bindable with the ESCs from the Kickflips or he 9" proboats that horizon sells?

PROBLEM SOLVED!
I installed a whole new radio system and had the same problems. I then checked the motor with a couple of AAs, the motor was bad. Switched with a spare I had and it works fine now!
Thanks to every one who looked and to Momo for his imput. Happy Crawling
