i have a rustler that i drove in to the drainage system, and was floating by the front tires, and it worked the next day (with stock everything) the arms and chassis are pretty beefy,

and the only thing that i dont like is it does not come with inserts, but thats a 10 buck fix, but other than that, i drove it off my roof and it stills works, (stock everything with i did that)

I like your first choice - the T4. That way you have the choice to build or RTR. You also have the choice if you get bitten by the racing bug (yeah like I said when I started "I'll never get into racing".

I can personally say that if you get the T4 Team Kit, you'll have a pretty cool basher, with tons of nice aftermarket bits and pieces (inspired by all the racers), lots of setup and tuning online expertise. If the unthinkable happens, you get the FT turnbuckles and RPM Ball Cups and you are good to go racing as well.

There are plenty of good choices for sure, and I wouldn't knock any of them, but I can say that you can't go too far wrong with the T4.

Default T4?

Hi, I'm new to monster trucks too. I still have a Kyosho Lazer ZX-R buggy, which I took the electronics out and transplanted over to a Tamiya TB-02 car. Just going to shelf the ZX-R now.

Now back to my question :-) I was looking at the Traxxas E-Maxx, and Twin Detonator. Now I hear the T4? Who makes the T4?

I've been hearing that Traxxas are for R/C beginners, but looking at it's mechanical specs, looks very robust.

Your advice on this topic is very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Vernon

roadcarver,

RC10T4 is Team Associated's 2wd stadium truck, so it doesn't have the same ground clearance and big wheels as the E-Maxx and Twin Detonator (which are monster trucks).

All the trucks mentioned are relatively decent trucks. Like another poster said though, if you ever plan on racing, it would be nice to have a competition level truck (Losi or Associated). The budget manufacturers are only really going to save you a few bucks up front but in the long run, it may not be worth it. Get a kit that it is easy to get parts for. See if any of your local shops stock the parts. It always sucks to have to order parts and wait for them to get there. No matter what you are doing, you're going to have breakage.

Default Monster trucks

Thanks for the info, it is very much appreciated.

I'm just going to get the truck for all around bashing and racing will not be an important factor for me. Are parts for Traxxas E-Maxx hard to find?

BTW, how much are T4's going for?
