X-Maxx Doppleganger

Hey all,

I have owned a Traxxas X-Maxx 8S for over ayear now and I was looking at parts to upgrade my X-Maxx and I had looked at so many parts I realized I would nearly have two X-Maxx's when I was done, so I decided I was going to build a second X-Maxx from the ground up.

My only rule: If an aftermarket part exists, I will use it.

Getting aftermarket parts for all the non-electrical parts seems pretty straight forward. I am mostly looking at Hot Racing, Integy, and others. If you have any suggestions on brands or parts that would be appreciated.

All the electrical stuff (receiver/transmitter, ESC, motor, servo) is a bit more complicated as I don't have any real experience with these. I am currently looking at the Hobbywing ESCs. I could really use some suggestions for the motor, transmitter/receiver and servo. This thing is probably gonna be real heavy. Also batteries. I am currently looking at Max Amps and Gens Ace. I am using Traxxas batteries on my current X-Maxx and that's all I really know.

If you all have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. I am basically an amature, but I have a decent understanding of the hobby, electronics, soldering, etc. I will keep a parts list of everything I order and provide update pictures as my parts arrive and I start assembling it.

Let's build an X-Maxx Doppleganger from scratch!

Unless something has improved these days, I would avoid Integy.
