Unless they're really short, they would be vulnerable to being easily bent.

I made a set that is about the same size as stock and ran them in a race last weekend and they worked for me pretty good. And I suck as a driver and had some bad crashes. A couple guys ask how much and I'm just trying to figure out a price. By the time I make them I thought if I could get 25 a set I would do okay, not retiring on it but maybe some beer money LOL

Hey guys, someone just asked me this and I didn't even think to say it.

When you you put the larger front sway bars on for carpet, the middle blue piece HAS TO BE ABLE TO MOVE. You cannot just tighten it all the way down. You put on threadlock and snug it. If you over tighten it, you are going to inhibit the suspension to push as one and it'll likely make your front suspension handle awkwardly when hitting smaller jumps as the rebound will be non existent. Just an fyi. Didn't think to mention it.

Associated needs to address some of the durability issues and material issues that front bumper sucks, I ran previous versions for years without the problems I am seeing now. The plastic sucks and the design sucks. Wish there was an aftermarket replacement. And I am not the only one having problems.

I am rough on stuff and I'll be the first to admit it, but after several years with my older SCT never one front bumper issue, but this is my second one since I have had it and got it pre order. And one of the better guys at our track busted one.

I broke them on the sc5m. But 2 bumpers in almost 9 months is not bad....

Body mount posts are even worse than bumpers. I see guys breaking them all the time, then you have to buy a $15 part tree for a new post.

We have actually been using the SC5m posts from that mount kit on the SC6.1.

How are most breaking the bumper assembly? Is it the main front skid-pate or the shock tower bridge?

The front skid plate mine broke where the short screws go thru it from the front into the shock absorber thing that goes between it and the tower. I put longer screws in the new one and it seems to help a bit but you can still see a dimple where its starting to buckle. and the other guy who is one of the better guys we race with rarely wreaks unless someone gets into him, broke one across the 2 screws that hold it to the bottom of the chassis, was odd kind of like it just rolled back on its self.

I saw both types of breakage of the front bumper assembly at CRCRC, heck even S. Rivkin had one break at the bottom at the mounting screws. Even the on-site hobby shop sold out of their stock (6 or more pkgs) by Friday...…….I'm working on a fix with one manufacturer now on a possible improvement, but in the meantime have made a modification that seems to work...will shoot pics of it tonight or tomorrow...….

I do appreciate the simple design, maybe more material at the connection between the skid plate and bridge and the same at the shock tower. The design itself seems to be fine. What I wouldn't want is some clunky complex assembly on the front of the chassis.
