Team Associated ProSC10 / Trophy Rat / Reflex DB10 thread
Just wanted to start a thread for this new platform of kits Team Associated has come out with. I picked up a ProSC10 last week and have been really impressed with it.
Quick info:
This is an ALL NEW platform, these kits are basically a SC version of the B5 buggy. Plastic tub, rear motor, all metric. Most of the upgrades for the SC5M and B5 will fit this platform, including swaybars, aluminum parts, and transmission parts. Only difference is the body/body mounts between the 3.
RTR issues:
- One of my shocks had the wrong screw mounting it to the arm.
- Shock caps don't have bleeder screws. Recommend getting the V2 bleeder caps (ASC91449), at $8 they are well worth it.
- Shock cap seals were overexpanded and needed replacement.
- Gear mesh set too tight.
- Gear diff had hardly any grease in it. Recommend cleaning it out and putting 5-7k in there.
Suggested upgrades:
- On 2S, it's undergeared. Stock is 18t steel pinion, I went to a 20t aluminum pinion.
- Aluminum rear hexes (ASC71014)
- Servo saver is too weak, recommend getting the $3 plastic servo horn kit. (ASC9180)
- Go with the +3mm wheels. Stock wheels are 10mm narrower than legal ROAR width, and these help widen the stance.

I've been messing around with the DVC stability control on this truck, it works pretty good in loose conditions at setting 4. BUT, it doesn't seem to work that well when using a faster/different servo, it's almost like it's been optimized for the speed/torque of the stock servo, and when using a faster servo it is not calibrated properly.
I don't see anything in the manual about calibration. Messing around with the gain doesn't really help.
So... if you like the DVC, you will want to stick with the stock servo.

It is still a different car even if quite similar, so I wouldn't say interchangeable, but you might get a good starting point at least. Things like diff settings and possibly shock settings (if your SC10 setups use normal bore instead of big bore) should carry over fairly well.

how much rear toe and antisquat is set from the factory and is it adjustable like the older sc10 with optional toe blocks.
#7
how much rear toe and antisquat do these cars have out of the box and does it come with extra parts like the older sc10 to adjust these?
#8
It's 3 toe and 1 deg of anti-squat. To change it, you need to get the B5 aluminum D block and inserts.

Thanks.I wasn’t sure if one was able to order and just pop in the inserts without buying the aftermarket c block.I looked up inserts and the associated inserts said they were compatable with reflex dB and trophy rat. They should have campatable with optional aluminum c block.

There is not a whole lot of talk of these plastic chassis sc5 based trucks with all the dirt tracks being converted to carpet and high grip clay but I do wonder if this new chassis would have been as successful as the last generation sc10 ft.Wonder if anyone has had one long enough and reallly tried to dial on in.We have both carpet track and a large outdoor dirt track and have been interested in these new trucks from associated.Im thinking of a new carpet buggy and one of these new reflex dB or trophy rats for the outdoor track. As of now all I have is an sc10b..

I think the difference between the ProSC10 and SC10.3 is night and day. It's like the difference between a B5 and B4.

Would you say that the prosc10 can be a good club racer with a few upgrades? Has anyone ran a prosc10 on a carpet or astroturf track and if so how did it handle the track?

I'm in the market for a new associated vehicle. I can't decide if I want the new b6.1d or the prosc10. We have 1 indoor carpet track and 2 1/8 outdoor tracks. I know the buggy is too small for the outdoor tracks but the prosc10 could probably handle them. With the truck I would probably be shoved into a different class due to the lack of 2wd sct in the area. I can't decided. What turn motors are generally used in the 2wd sct class?
