Mounting Body Using Velcro
A search hasn’t turned up anything substantive.....
Getting ready to build an RC10B64D and and RC8B3.1e and would prefer to mount the bodies using velcro vs posts & pins. Suggestions, tips, pics would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance |
I do not see it easy.. or light. and the velcro holding dust, dirt, mud
|
I've never seen anyone use Velcro on a 1/8 scale and don't think it will work very well. People do it all the time for 4wd. I would recommend a good quality Velcro AE seems to be the best.
|
Yeah it works fine for 1/10 buggies, 1/8..... wouldn't count on it, though nothing to lose by trying it I guess.
|
I usually use both on my bodies to keep the dirt etc. out and cables (that might get lose during driving) inside.
Wouldn't mount the body with velcro alone though! |
I recommend the Yokomo Dust Filter Magic Tape. I use that on the body and the TLR velcro
for the buggy. |
I use a combination of clips and velcro on my Tenkno. I went this route more to keep debris out a little better and to help keep the body post from reaming out the holes from impacts.
|
I ran Velcro only on my rc8b3e for a while with no issue, however I did have it come off once during a muti car crash while practicing at the track.
I'd say for bashing or practice at the track sure, but for racing use both. Also added benefit of the Velcro is keeping dirt/debris out of you chassis! |
not a fan of velcro, the body tends to crack over time from lifting the sides
to remove it off the car |
well there goes that idea. I was going to mount my recently e-converted 8IGHT 3.0 this way. I'll stick with the body clips.
|
I have never cracked a body from taking it on and off when using velcro. I have had clips break many bodies.
