What's out there that can replace the steering links between the servo horn and bellcrank.. I can handle all the slop they get from running on high bite carpet.

I have a b6.1d and I am thinking about putting MIP pucks on it. Anyone know the difference between ordering ASC91844 (FL MIP kit) or the individual parts ASC91845, ASC91846, ASC91847 and ASC91849 ? Seems you save a few bucks getting the parts rather than the kit ?!?

if you race on a dirt surface... don't get it. (useless in low to medium traction surface) It is more applicable to clay tracks with high traction.

I just found a bunch of No. 1 pucks in my parts drawer. Can I use them on the 6.1 FL, or are they different?

I new to latest B6.1D with layback transmission. I want to try the standup transmission configuration for dirt oval to get more rear weight balance. Looking at all the charts and info it appears I need only the the following parts:
1. B6.1 gear cover #91813
2. B6.1 standup top shaft #91798
3. B6.1 standup motor plate #91794
4. B6.1 standup gearbox #91788
5. B6. Idler gear, 26T, standup #91717

is this correct list?
thanks

You can if you have the pins as well but you can't use 1.5 pins with 1.0 pucks. They don't last as long so keep an eye on the wear if you do use them.

That looks correct, although if you bought the kit new you should already have the gear cover as it came in the kit

I have a 21.5 Monster Max in my B6.1d and for the last track configuration at SDRC I was at 72/30, 40deg timing, with a plastic pinion, and slipper. I would say it is conservative, with a fan it runs cool, without it would maybe hit 130 on a 7min run.

I have not been on the track with the new layout yet an there is a full straight away now, so you might want a little more aggressive gearing.. also maybe another tooth on the pinion if you delete the slipper.

Thinking about buying a B6.1D or the lite version for 17.5. I run at Camarillo, CA it's a hard packed loose dirt for the most part. What one do you guys recommend or should I just stick with the b6d and wait for a new buggy? I'm assuming at the rate AE is releasing stuff one is coming out by the new year.

If you are running on loose dirt you would want a slipper to help with on power traction, so I vote for the B6.1D over the FL.

As far as keeping the B6 and waiting for another car to come out beyond the 6.1, I think you would be doing yourself a disservice by doing that. The B6.1 is an amazing car and who knows when or if a new car will come it? Except in 2 weeks ;-)
But even if you did get the B6.1 and another car were to come out shortly after, you definitely still would have a very capable and competitive car so no worries there.

I run a B6.1 setup for wet track just like Camarillo. I race locally at Hot Rod Hobbies in Saugus, CA. The 6.1 version is far superior to the 6 version. However the lit version is applicable to high traction clay surface. All that lightened parts will not benefit you in a wet track... believe me, I ran that setup before and its a waste of money.
