Ah cool that makes sense.. the B6.1d was the first RC I built and raced since the RC10GT back in 2000. So any of those types of things I missed. I was out of the loop on top of being rather dense haha.

I had a TLR 4.0T but I got it used and ran it stock before I switched to the B6.1d

For the shocks, moving from 1.8 with 35wt oil in the rear shocks, moving to 1.7 what would be an equivalent weight oil to use? Or asked in a different way to ask, If I went from 1.8 to 1.7 pistons in the rear, keeping the same oil. 1.7 would feel like 1.8 with what oil?

The smaller hole piston will provide more pack on landing and respond quicker to driver input. You trade off stability for better landing characteristics.

As a rule of thumb I've heard every .1 change in piston hole size is similar to a 5wt oil change. So 35wt with a 1.8 will be close to 30wt with a 1.7

Thanks for the info. Since I'm racing turf without many large jumps I'm probably better off with the 1.8?

To be honest I don't race turf so can't give you a clear answer on that. Try asking your tracks fast drivers if they have tried pistons besides the 1.8 and what you can expect at your track.

Hello all,
Without having to read 167 pages -- can someone recommend a thick (i.e. sturdy and less breakable) aftermarket rear wing for the B6.1D, please?
Thanks in advance!

If by that you mean did they widen the gear on the input shaft? Then, no, they haven’t unless you get it from a Factory Lite kit.

I was skeptical, but I bought one anyways and have been running it in 17.5 indoor on carpet with no problems. For reference, I’m referring to Associated part 91800.

I've been using RS0806 and while it is a quality servo, the torque is too low, would recommend a RT1408 or RS1306 if you are choosing from reedy LP servos.

Protek 4900. 200g shorty is pretty standard.

No problems for me running the direct drive. Ran it on dirt with cut transmission gears with no issues. Switched my car over to carpet and idler stripped instantly. Put the full width idler back in and no issues on carpet with the direct drive.
