Default Spare Parts for 6.1D

My son (9) has just got into rc and started racing a 6.1D. What are the main spare parts to get? Does TA have a spare screw set with a few of each screw? Have seen the stainless and TI screw sets ... it

Thanks for any input!!

Since it's for starting driver get your manual (figure out the screws you need) and buy bulk screws from this website. I race and I don't use titanium screws and I get my screws from this place.

and for excellent bearings

5.95 FDR is what the Motiv folks recommend for a medium sized indoor clay track, other motors may be different.

We did a 10 hour enduro, and wondering if there are quick change battery ideas out there? Stock setup takes to long.

JConcepts swing mount should be quicker.

I would say velcro the battery in, maybe those new JC swing mounts. I have not tried them. And i would use xt60 connectors.....to prevent and oops and for quick plug in. Normally I only use bullets but for an enduro, probably xt60

You must be at TRCR, I watched a little of that race on LiveRC and it looked fun!

It was fun. But we got last place. Probably not the best group, to have a driver who never raced before. Track was more Technical, then it probably looked on LiveRC. I was the blue car 8, in the 3rd and 8th hours. I did ok. I'm more of a 4x4 Buggy, Stadium and Shortcourse (2wd/4wd) person.

That sounds so cool I would love to do an enduro race, picking the right teammates would be key though where is TRCR located?

There is a gearing chart in the instruction manual, and Tekin puts a sticker on the Spec-R motor specifying a 10-15% lower gearing than normal. You can use any regular calculator to figure out what pinion you can try first. Whichever pinion you calculate that you need, you should get one a couple teeth bigger, and a couple teeth smaller, that way you have some range of adjustment. Motor timing is set from the factory. Timing should be left where it is until you run the car and see how it feels and what temps are on the motor and esc (both should be less than 150°F) Once you run the car, then you can make small changes to gearing and timing. A motor has about a 4° sweet spot, and you have to have gearing right too. Don't feel overwhelmed. Once you run the car a little bit and make a few adjustments to learn what they do, you won't feel the need to send your motor to have the timing set by some guy on facebook. You can set the timing yourself.
