does the new B6.1 standup fit the old B6 chassis?

The fact that they had no excess weight hanging out on the rear end will also have helped. I am stoked for the new stand-up/shocks in the front configuration, exactly what I need for outdoor racing in liquid sunshine!

I'm a bit bummed that they didn't take one more step and call it a B7. My general setup's are to find one online that is close to the conditions I run, and then see if I have the parts to match that setup, ie springs, weights, arms, mounts. If I do, set it up that way then tweak it to my liking.

But now there is going to be an infinite number of variations and adjustments out that trying to match a setup will be kind of insane. I get that having more adjust-ability is great, but sometimes having too many knobs just clouds everything. For the average racer that sticks to one or two tracks, the setup pretty much stays once you find one that works. So I guess for me it may not matter too much once I find what works. I will be getting a B6.1 to replace my B6 for indoors, I have a well setup B6D so don't need to change it, but then the layback tranny is tempting, so argh. I still wish it became the B7 for online setups sakes alone.

I don't really understand what the name has to do with online set up sheets? I'm sure they will have a new B6.1 set up sheet so the name really doesn't matter

if you purchased the B6.1 for the extra 20$ to get the sway bars and other parts that are different than the 6.1D would it be real hard to make it work on indoor clay?

You'd probably want different springs, a ball diff, and maybe a brass C-block. Doesn't seem worth it unless you regularly race on carpet and would use the swaybars and weight-plate.

Yeah that's my point -- seems you get more with the NON D version?

From Ray Munday on page 10.

Im told that the b6.1 laydown/layback front row of holes does not match the B6 chassis / C block. It may be possible with some re-drilling but not a direct fit.

The waterfall brace position is also different with layback and would need new holes drilled in the B6 chassis.

Is there still toe adjustment with the hub inserts or just height adjustment?

Toe adjustment is done at the inner hinge pins just like the 6. Hubs only have a height adjustment.

Any one notice the caster blocks for the 6.1 have a different part # from the B6? Is there a difference?

that isn't answering my question at all, the front row on the laydown/layback doens't line up. So does that mean the standup that doesn't have that front row of holes will fit the old chassis? Just looking for clarification but thanks . . .

For most of the tracks I race on if I used a B6.1D I would need to add the weights, ball diff and swap rear shocks and tower for shorter ones, probably change the trans case for normal laydown ..... it all comes down to what you race on!

For guys that race on lower grip the B6.1D will be the best choice as they will want the ball diff, long shocks etc etc

Pick the one that suits your tracks the most.
