you are better off buying the B6.1 kit than converting your B6 to a B6.1

Has anyone a partslist when I want to start with the 3G for the B6.1D? Or is it just the Standup Gearbox and motor plate??

AE have released a new parts list and it mentions a stand-up specific topshaft, too. To be sure, I'd wait for the manual hoping that they will include an exploded view of the optional gearboxes like TLR do.

Does anyone know if the B6.1D will have about the same weight as the B6 or the B6D? I'm curious to see how much weight difference the 3MM of chassis makes.

Doesn't matter if it "goes up" or not - when magnets get hot, they get weak. You're talking the difference of a motor lasting a month or 6. Which would you rather have?

The b6 chassis weighs around 130g, so taking 3mm off a 280mm long part is going to change only around 1.5-2g due to length alone. If they have changed thickness at all it will be a more significant change.

Assume that I have a temp gun and know how to use it, and that the spirit of my post was simply that, in most cases, a properly-geared stock buggy does not need a fan. I called out the 22 4.0 because it is the exception, and me recounting the fact that I saw several of them "go up" when not running a fan was simply me speaking to how severe the problem is. I was NOT implying that you gauge motor health by whether or not it's on fire. I have no clue how you managed to infer that from my post.

Are the 6.1 buggies just hands down that much better than the 6? I know when I went from the 5m lite to the 6 I was so impressed how much easier the 6 was to drive compared to the 5m lite so is it gonna be that again?

Im not seeing a big performance gain, just some ease of maintenance. Could be wrong though, The layback is intriguing for a slow guy like me.

We clearly won't know until we get our hands on them.....I would think it's safe to assume it will be better, by what factor of course will be determined by the skill of the driver

I think if you go from a bone stock B6 you will notice a big difference. If you already have the 67mm bones, did the 3rd hole on the rear arms, mod to shorten the wheelbase, etc. you won't notice a huge change in handling.
