Might want to try getting a fan for the motor. That should help bring the temps down.

Problem with running in sand I bet you are full throttle through the whole pack. Running full throttle all the time is going to keep your motor running hot.

I would go with a 1/8 motor to increase efficiency to lower temps increase speed acceleration and run time... probably stay with sensorless to keep costs down and have fewer issues with sand. ValueHobby...GoolRc...Turnigy are some brands to shop around... any 3674 or 4074 can will do the trick... ideally 2000kv to 2600kv on 4S would be ideal.

As I am not a big fan on castle esc's I do like their motors, and my favorite is the 3800kv one thinking castle # 1410 as I ran that motor in my scte with lots of batteries at a time, it seemed to run over 200 degrees and still was a monster in that heavy truck, seems to me the castle motors take the heat better, plus you can gear them up

If it runs hot then add a fan or heat sink and re-gear to lower the temps. Sand running is extremely hard on an RC and getting the correct gear ratio is required to keep temps in check.

As for the motor, as stated above, an 1/8 scale motor and more voltage would be a good way to go faster. 2100-2400kv with ESC and 4s would make it scream.

What battery are you running? 2s or 3s?

The fuze 3800 motor gets hot. But it rips pretty good. It's a 550 can so it's a bit longer than the castle 3800. I have a ten-mt with the fuze 3800kv. The motor rips hard... even compared to my SCT with the castle 3800 in it. If you're looking for a 10th scale motor that will increase your trucks performance with the same kv I don't think you'll find one. If you're looking for a cooler options to keep temps down then the only way is to go 1/8th scale electronics IMO. I have put vents in the body, a fan on the motor, geared it down from a 16t mod 1 to a 14t mod 1, bought a tuner, changed connectors and that motor still gets hot.

If it's a basher I would go with the castle mamba x and 2650kv motor or mamba monster x(idk if it would fit) and 2650kv motor. This on 3s will be similar to the 3800 on 2s top speed wise but with way more trq and lower temps. On 4s it would be similar to the 3800kv on 3s but with way more trq and lower temps.
