1/10 4wd buggy for 2018
I'm going to get myself a Christmas gift. I have 4 choices b64/d, 22-4 2.0, eb410, and yz-4 sf. I'm going to run 13.5 motor indoor clay meduim bite tracks. Which one should i get? I left xray and others because of part support. Thank you and happy holiday to all.

I was thinking about the same (for a different track though) - I had narrowed my options down to Yokomo YZ-4SF, XRAY XB4'18 or Tekno EB410 ... I've pretty much decided on the YZ4-SF (and no, not because of the world's ;))
|
Cant go wrong with either AE or Losi.
Im sure someone at the track has one of them that may be able to let you try one out? |
I actually would lean toward the EB410 and then the Yokomo, but that’s just me. Easier to drive out of the box and durability.
|
The 22-4 2.0 is extremely durable with my crappy driving the only part I've broken is the front pivot. So far I've broken 8 of them. I'm ordering an aluminum one. And the car is very easy to drive.

EB410
B64 Yokomo (just because it's so new no one has any real experience with it yet) 22-4.0. (Can be fast, but such a PITA to work on) |
Buy the Tekno if you want to get marshalled backwards. Seen it happen.

I went with a B64d (sold to me by a friend). Really easy to drive, very durable, best parts support/cost, and very easy to work on. I'm very happy with my choice.

Having recently built my first new Assocaited in 20 years (B6) get ready for manual errors compared to the old days.

I have been running Tamiya wheelers for the last 7 or 8 years. Trf 503, 502x and a DB01RRR. Ive been wanting to get something little more main stream. But didn't want a Associated of Losi like everyone else has, at least around me. And was leaning towards the Kyosho Lazer zx6.6 or the Yokomo YZ-4. I'm not really a fan of the european offerings like schumacher or Xray. Parts support for those would be the same as or worse than my Tamiyas. I finally settled on the Tenno EB410 as I like that it really is a new car from the ground up and I believe its going to be a big success as their 1/8 scale cars where.... Thats just my .02 cents....

Anyway, can't speak from any kind of personal experience but if I could afford a 4WD buggy, I'd most likely get the EB410 or the B64. We used to have an AE dealer in our city but the store went bankrupt two months ago, so bye bye local parts support. With that being the case the EB410 seems more lucrative than it would've before - not that there is anything wrong with the car itself, though it is pricier. Still, I suppose it'd probably make up for the extra cost in durability over time. There's been a fairly nice deal going on B64 recently here, but I'm flat out broke from buying other things like ESCs etc during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday hulabaloo. Incidentally as a result I would have the electronics to put into a 4WD buggy, though... :p |

Gotta use one of those chassis protectors, except cut it to the shape of an arrow pointing toward the front
