TLR 22T 4.0 Race Kit: 1/10 2WD Stadium Truck

We do not still have the molds for any of those "vintage" vehicles, so we'd have to tool them from scratch. That's a tougher proposition.[/QUOTE]
So your saying there is a chance!!!! I will just be over here waiting sitting down for a JRX2 rerelease....

I was disappointed that the JRX2 shirts were not available in Europe. However, this is not the place to discuss potential re-release kits (and related shirts). Let's get back on topic.

Well, like I said Frank, I get it… but I gotta be honest, it stings a little to see that Associated updated their trucks to 6.2 spec not that long ago...
Anyway, It’s all good - heck, I kind of had to defend TLR when someone mentioned that they (and AE) would drop 8th scale from their lineup in a heartbeat If projects like the Kraton took off. Hardly the case, considering like you said, the whole 8th scale line has pretty much been totally revamped in the past few years with the X’s, Elite versions of the X’s, and XT’s all out the door.

The T4.0 is old now, but I always thought it drove better than my T6.1. I have a T6.2 now and while I haven’t driven it on dirt, I’d be surprised if it was better on dirt than my T4.0 was.

I did not have a T6.1, but the 4.0 was better on carpet than the Xray I had before and the Yokomo I had afterwards. I had always suspected the gullwing front arms to play a factor, and the way the current Schumacher and Associated trucks handle seem to confirm that. An updated gearbox, the Elite steering and suspension parts in my book would be enough to justify buying one. Its design was pretty advanced in some respects "back in the day" already.

One issue with redoing the suspension is that the sct, and scte still use the v2 shocks making them more costly. But I concur that limiting the redo to steering, and the transmission would be the most cost efficient update.

Well, it certainly shifts some weight. Generally, I have mostly seen rear shocks mounted behind the arms on cars that were used on dirt/clay tracks, and mounted in front of the arm on carpet/astro cars. Don't know if there is more to it than the weight shift...

Centralizes the weight, much like mid-motor as compared to rear motor, but to a lesser extent.

Usually I am not a fan of mounting the shocks behind the rear shock tower, but it helped calm down the twitchy YZ-2T a lot. The 22T 4.0 was perfect for me with the shocks in the front. In fact, I still consider it my all-time favourite and only sold it because parts support for this specific kit has been nonexistent in Germany. Too bad...
