Maybe I'm missing something here, but if you have a 22T 4.0 and an XB2C, maybe you could just... try it?

I prefer to not damage anything, if it's not going to work...figured, someone must have already tried it.

Ok, then just stick some calipers on the ballstuds and measure them both.

Just looking at the ball stud in xray's catalog. Xray makes 6.0mm, 5.0mm, 4.9mm, 4.2mm ball studs. As I recall the tlr one are like 4.8mm. So it would snap on but loose, and likely to come off as well.

I知 thinking about setting one up for carpet. Is anyone running a G2 gear diff with composite gears with a 17.5? I知 wondering how the composite gears hold up or if I should just install the metal gears.

Seems, the most likely, and best, thing to do is get the XRAY ball cup end AND ball studs, for the 22T. Since I'm also about to start converting a 22 5.0 SR into a no-prep drag car (Exotek "22 Vader" conversion), think I just might do the same.

For anyone that ran or runs the truck on carpet, do you have the battery in the most forward position? Or do you run it with the battery strap that comes with the kit and just use more weight in the front? I知 trying to determine if I should order the optional battery strap or not when I知 ordering other parts.

I run mine for/aft or the length of the truck.

I didn't have mine for long due to HH Europe's level of support, used the optional strap and ended up running the battery in the rear and a brass electronics plate. If you're not using brass, the carbon strap may come in handy.

I never thought about running it that way 🤔

Who makes that battery strap? I haven稚 seen it before. I was planning on buying the longer plastic one.

I've been slowly switching my ballstuds over to the xray 4.9mm with the right length for each position and haven't had any problems with the 22t 4.0 ballcups. I thought it would be a bit too tight but its not affecting my servo or return of the links to position.

I'm running the composite G2 diffs in both my 5.0AC and 22t 4.0 with an smc lowrider 6.5 in each on carpet/turf and no issues. I do keep a full aluminium serpent diff as backup though.

Default stick with 4.0 or go 5.0 mods

Recently picked up a new 22T 4.0

Ran into folks doing 5.0 conversion stuff and was wondering aside from doing that what are the main optional parts that are currently available to do before jumping into the 5.0 stuff? Local shop told me to upgrade the front spindle inserts to aluminum and ditch the plastics as its a weak point. Shop ended up selling the 4mm aluminum set but browsing the manual its 3mm standard. Got the aluminum servo mounts and was trying to find the aluminum rack it but seems to be long gone. Setting up for outdoor dirt

Thanks!

Do you know if they will sell the laydown conversion kit separate like they do for the 22 4.0 buggy?

Thanks. I ended up going with a metal 2 gear setup in it and my Elite after talking to one of the few guys that run Losi at my local track. My local track is small and tight and he said it壇 help with rotation.
