Here is my little bit tuned good base setup for d418. Very easy and fast to drive.
See link and test.

Just pulled the trigger on one of these, curious to see how this compares to my XB4 2017 and my Tekno EB410. How will this do out of the box on a medium to high bite cly track(OCRC)?

Would be curious to hear your comparison against the XB4 and EB410 as well! We have two local tracks in Melbourne - one is hard-packed dirt/clay with generally low to medium grip, and the other is a clay track that is medium to high; both are outdoors. So hoping to find out how setups go with the two track types. I'm mainly running on the hard-packed dirt/clay track, but will be getting a few runs on the clay track in the upcoming months.

Also interested to hear how d418 compares to eb410 because both are kind of similar layout and weight balance F/R.

Yea, the D418 looks like it has some EB410 and Xray in its design, but still keeping all the good things from the D413. I always liked my D413 build, quality and durability but did not like the way it drove, mainly jumping and landing despite trying every setup out there. I'm not totally satisfied with the steering on my EB410 but other than that its an awesome car...hoping the D418 will have much improved steering but still remain balanced with lots of forward traction. My Xray I really like but have to drive it more like a 2 wheel compared to my Tekno.

Doubtful unless HB makes a shorter front bone. The spring side on the slipper moves the drive cup forward more then the gear diff.

We found this out when we made our B64 conversions.

On a side note .... would anyone have a front center bone they could get me a pin to pin measurement on?

Bought this set for front and rear arms and tested today on astro turf track vs stock plastic arm inserts. Much more constant driving experience and sharper response and i can highly recommend these on medium to high grip tracks. Also these look super cool.

Cheers.
hey mate. Im in Sydney. Member of ryde club. I had my first club meet with the car a few weeks ago and decided to try 20k in the centre. I ended up qualifying 2nd and got third overall in mod class. Not bad considering my first race in 6 months and it being a new kit. I had never used such low cst oil in centre with previous kits but i prefer the 20k over the 100k and 80k i tried. Seems easier to drive on the loose stuff compared to 100k.

Well got back from the track yesterday from all day practice(hard pack medium/wet clay track, traction would change during the day but it did not affect the car)), I drove my Xray, EB410 and D418 back to back and I have to say I really liked the D418 the most. Steering on the 418 was incredible but car was still completely planted, I was a second and a half faster with it than my Tekno simply because it just turns exactly when I want it to( I am a fairly aggressive driver). The 418 and Xray drove similar but the 418 felt more balanced and jumped notably better(more consistency). Now what is interesting is I have spent many sessions at the track getting My Xray and EB410 to drive as they are now, but the 418 was money out of the box was as fast with it on its first pack as I am with my XB4….. the car just drives very easy, but fast. The only thing I did to the 418 was 60 wt front shock oil and Xray 3 dot and 2 dot springs(because I had them from my XB4). I did feel the stock shock setup was a little soft, but a quick easy change. At this point I don't feel I need to do anything more to the car...this is a completely different car from the D413, I am truly shocked at how little attention this car is getting as it is really good...I guess Tekno and Yokomo are soaking it all up right now.

My setup:
Standard set up.
10/100000/10 F/C/R diffs
60 wt F shock Xray 3dot spring
40 wt R shock Xray 2 dot spring
Space Bar rear tire
Transistors front tire
HW XR10 pro
HB 8.5
Spektrum low profile S6240
4600 orion pack

Has anyone converted a 413 into a 418 yet? Seems like it would cost around $200
