yes you are right bender....in touring on the tarmac a car has to be flexible........my SDw has 2.3mm plates and flex very well ...but in offroad a rigid chassis is more desiderable.........however i've just ordered my DF-03 from Cham p....and i'll cross my fingher waiting a slipper set and a graphite composite chassis.....hope that chinese companies make some hop-up soon....
guys do you know if the standard servo will fit the car? or i need a low profile one?
thanks!

I am using a standard Futaba 3003? servo in mine, so yes a standard size servo fits.

My suggestions to have the car race ready is replace the shocks and dogbones, and throw on some turnbuckles for convenience.

I hope you're wrong about the c/f chassis. I like the design just the way it is, I don't want to have to start using crappy undertrays again just to protect a flexy c/f chassis
Don't get me wrong. I like it the way it is too because there was nothing like the "me too" chassis that everyone ran. The CF chassis is pure speculation based upon how the gearboxes were designed.

What are the changes you've made to your chassis ?
May I see the chassis without the body ?

Thx

Fabolousrc,, How the hell do you think that this is more like a Top Force Evo??? You need to get your eyes checked. Evolution or evo means on going devolpment of a car . The top force was made back in the early 9o's and is nothing like it . Top Force has saddle packs and different suspension to start off with . Unless you have a top force you should not make comments like that because you will see that they are nothing alike....

Hi Mark.

The car is running very well

At this stage the car will make it's proper debut at the Grand Slam at Ipswich in two weeks - but that's IF I can get tyres.

I'm having great difficult in getting tyres atm, both locally and os

I bought it from rc champ in Japan as their prices are very cheap, I wouldn't buy any car kit locally.

Yes, it comes with ball diffs and is fully ball raced with the exception of the steering bellcranks (an easy $10 fix).

As for the shocks, I'd say personally that they DO need to be upgraded. Tamiya's newer black plastic shocks are simply not as good as their old yellow CVA units. The holes in the piston are too big, and the tolerances between piston and shock body aren't very good, at least not good enough for racing.

IMO shocks, CVD's, turnbuckles, and a gear adaptor are required for competative running, anything else is optional.

You can argue with me all you want. Yes, I never owned a Top Force but I did own it's predecesor called Boomerang. Enough Said.

Again, I don't know how many time times I have to re-iterate myself: The drivetrain lay out is similar NOT THE WHOLE DAMN CAR. Even a 5 year old knows that Dark Impact is not the same car as a Top Force. Do not put words into my mouth. I never said Top Force is Dark Impact. I only said it looked like Top Force. "Looked like" and "exact" are competely different. Unless you skip elementary school, whomever think I'm implying it as the exact car (I had to do this again just because it seemed like saying once wasn't enough for you internet scholars) should go back to retake his elementary english all over again.

Peace.

Thanks,
The actual DI specific hop-ups aren't out yet, but things like the DF02 driveshafts and shocks can be found at most on-line shops, especially in Japan or Hong Kong.

Over at the Oople forum, someone posted some pics of some new lightweight shafts :
HERE

I have posted this elsewhere, but here is my prototype dual-plate rear shock tower:
