Default KYOSHO TR-15 thread

hey guys owned one for a while ruined the engine now thinking of rebuilding and upgrading so wanna talk about it here
i hope this tread will be fore the buggy versions the stadium trucks and rally including rtr version.
ive been talking to kyosho usa and most thing apart from the center differential on the new rtr cars fits the old so the good news is that those fragile front bulk heads now have replace able metal shaft and you can upgrade to silicone filled diffs any one notice any thing else?
any photo's?
what mods have you done?
any way hope this kicks of a 1/10th nitro buggy class

Its good to have this thread here, jut got for myself a TR-15 stadium force and jut finished building it last night...for the mods, i changed the front and rear A-arms with a new one which is a bit stronger than the stock and does not seem to flex too much...I changed the engine heat sink with the one i have for the on-road car which is slightly taller compared to the stock...I upgraded to full bearings for the drive train and the wheel hubs instead of the metal bushings...one thing that concerns me is the shock spring, its way too soft....what springs you use to replace the stock ones? All in all, i like how the truck looks...

i think you would use the same springs as are on the zx-5 electric buggy or just check the tr-15 parts conformity list on kyosho japans sight under option parts

Hi bro, i had run my truck ang it runs great, you need a lot of space for it, its damn fast...i think the engine can take a 2 speed but dont know if there is an upgrade for this...also i notice that the servo mount for steering is a little weak, do you know of a part to replace this stock servo holder so it will be stronger.....i would also want to replace the steering plate with an aluminum one from the TR-15 buggy...the plastic ones seem to flex too much...body was not yet painted...still looking for a good and decent design to copy....if you know of any sites with lots of truck body pics, i would appreciate it so much...thanks...

I got my kit here in tokyo for about 170 US dollars plus hop-ups of about 30 dollars....im also thinking of making my own stuff to make the truck stronger like braces and plates made from aluminum...actually, the truck is for my 12 year old son....but i would also want it to last a long time for him to enjoy more driving hours than fixing it...lol....i would also will be getting the 3-shoe clutch coz i know the stock will burn out faster than expexted....ive changed the springs also and i think its a lot bouncier than the stock ones, dont know what part number but its also from kyosho...have not checked it...i will post some pics here if i can make a few mods....keep in touch bro.

hey i was gonna rebuild my gs 15r and put a two needle carb on it my question is would it be as powerful as a os 12cv??
it cost me 1/2 the $$ to rebuild compared to buying a new engine. lol those os tz look mean but considering how i killed my first engine it really isnt a good idea. any way whats your opinion

Cant tell bro, got no experience with the OS 12cv, the engines i use for my touring cars are all 12TZ 5 ports, they pack a lot of power ang speed and i like them a lot, but theyre not designed for off-road i think....anyways, im also thinking of getting the 2-needle carb (slide) for the GS15r...and until then will i know if it will perform better than the stock rotary carbs...ill keep you posted for any updates....but it seems like its just the 2 of us talking about this truck...LOL....hope more guys would join us in the future...if you know of any forum talking about our truck...pls let me know bro...good luck on your rebuild...

hey do you reckon this would work
an os 12tz 3 port pilot shaft with the optional aluminium clutch running a skyline rear exhaust manifold and pipe? might need the optional motor mounts but thats what im gona do if i get mine running again.
i been racing my electric touring car right now.
any upgrades on your truck?
i think exhaust will be my first priority when i get mine running.
i know it weird to drop a pro motor like a tz in but i want a motor i can run in a tourer one day.
let me know what ya think
